I was riding a pig on the top of a mountain, fell and survived
Fell in a ravine and landed on a lava pit... Stupid pig
At least I found diamonds right next to the lava area that I died, I at least recovered my iron pick.
When I first got minecraft, creepers would have to be about two blocks away from you to explode, so in my small house (5x5) I could stand in the middle and be just far enough so that they can't explode and I could punch them through my glass-less windows. But when I updated to 1.7 their ranged increased a bit. And one day...ssssss what? How the f? Why are you blinking? Why are you blinking!! boom
So I was building a giant dirt tower just to pass the time and use-up all the stacks of dirt I collected during my terraforming adventures. I had JUST gotten a diamond chest plate and my final tool in my full iron set.
I was building walls onto the side of this tower when my finger twitched off of the SHIFT button. I fell about a third of the way down from the very top of my tower when I tried to recover and land on the stairway spiraling up.
Apparently that was too late.
I landed and about half of my stuff (including all my beautiful armor) got scattered across the terrain. Of course I had a half-opened cave system at the foot of my tower, so in all I spent an hour hunting-down all my stuff when I respawned. I'm not even sure at what point it all despawned and I hope whatever Creeper may have found my diamond chestplate is happy with it.

Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.

A week ago I was mining Obsidean with water flowing to seal up any lava... I mined the block below me and fell into the lava, and the water sealed the Obsidean over my head so I sufficated and burned to death. Luckily I only lost my diamond pick and a few Obsidean blocks.
And just yesterday, I was working on a minecart track and somehow got stuck inside a wall in the minecart and it wouldn't let me pick my way out, so I sufficated.
I had a huge mob tower, and there was a spider blocking the discharge chute that they fell through to take fall damage and die near my house. I shot a bunch of arrows at the spider. a few hit and killed it, but the rest fell back and killed me. I got my stuff, but felt like such a n00b. I was injured for three days with a sprained dignity.
I am going to tell my first death. I am a new player and this happened right before the 1.8 update. I normally play on peaceful to get use to the controls, that and I have the distance set to tiny cause it crashes the game on my computer. Anyway, I was digging in the mine and saw a trail of water leading to a dead end. Being the new gamer, I thought the water was entering a secret room. I dug into the wall and, turning my head for a split second, the water pushed me into lava that was just uncovered. I tried to get out, but I was too late. I lost all of my stuff that was on me at the time. But on the up side, I went back to that spot and blocked the water to explore the area, and found my first two diamonds that was hidden in the water. The lesson for this death, no matter what difficulty it is, lava will still kill you.
hmm...lets see now...i entered the nether to begin my quest to find a fortress. i didnt find one, so i built an emergency portal out and i ended up in the middle of a dungeon. i survived and made the dungeon into a new home since i was far far far away from my original home. then after some time i began to miss my original home, so i set out with my best equipment and a boat to find my way home. as i was travelling i got distracted by many amazing natural structures. i found a huge vertical mountain made of nothing but stone. curious to find out what wonders could be on top of that mountain, i climbed it. i found a cow. i couldnt get down and noticed a pool of water close to the base of the mountain, so i jumped and died
I had discovered a few weeks ago the wonderful program of MCNostalgia. On my HP, I downgraded to Indev to see how terrain generated back then. I found that there were options for different types of terrain, one of which caught my eye: Floating. I logged on, punched down some trees and went back to the pre-generated house. I placed down a workbench and attempted to craft a door. After realizing that a: I couldn't craft the door and b: There was still half the day left, I decided to explore. I looked over a sort of inlet to the floating island I was on and saw some iron on the wall. I attempted to press shift and bridge across to it. Didn't end too well.
Creeper chases me near my house
I start running for my life
My own piston mechanism nearly kills me
(Instead of stone, I wish I had a diamond knife)
I hear a SSSSS...then a BOOM!
And then there's a huge hole in my living room!
Zombies and skeletons swarming in
More creepers with their evil grins
BOOM! (respawn) BOOM! (respawn)
By the time morning came, my house was gone!
1. Jumping off a cliff to try and kill a creeper.
2. Beastier than Chuck Norris! I killed an enderman! Chuck Norris then would've said FAIL! I backed up into lava.
3. Trying to follow Notch into a dungeon and got killed.
4. Tried to jump from one edge of a ravine to the other. Halfway down, I saw diamonds and said: OOH DIAMONDZ!!
Creeper saved my life by blowing all of us up.
Not really though!
The explosion sent me flying into lava...

Here's a story I'm writing. So yeah.
