holy **** i dont really know what else to say other than good luck may friend if u do make it well it might be a good time to sign into a sanitarium... but good luck bro
1 Gigameter about half the distance to what Notch referred to as a "hard limit". Where new chunks would overwrite old ones I guess you don't have to worry about but at 1/16th the distance notch states items and pathfinding would overflow and act weird.
1) How infinite is it?
First of all, let me clarify some things about the “infinite” maps: They’re not infinite, but there’s no hard limit either. It’ll just get buggier and buggier the further out you are. Terrain is generated, saved and loaded, and (kind of) rendered in chunks of 16*16*128 blocks. These chunks have an offset value that is a 32 bit integer roughly in the range negative two billion to positive two billion. If you go outside that range (about 25% of the distance from where you are now to the sun), loading and saving chunks will start overwriting old chunks. At a 16/th of that distance, things that use integers for block positions, such as using items and pathfinding, will start overflowing and acting weird.
ok now i know ive played this game for about a year now and the most ive ever gone in any world is 10,235 blocks from the 0,0 point and how i did that was used the planes mod and set it on auto pilot. and went to bed got up and found out the plane crashed but when i saved the game it consumed about 120mbs of my hdd so to go 1 mill kilometers is absurd you would need the storage about the size of the google main frame. also where could you possibley find a place to upload the save lol no one would ever be able to play it or watch it.
Why would you need the donation? Do you need the money to buy the iron? XD
EDIT: Upon reading the pages of replies I've become more and more suspicious that this is just a scam to get money.
1. You've shown proof that you're actually doing this. Those pictures you posted only showed short sections of a track.
2. How did you keep count of how long your track is anyways?
3. You're seriously confusing m with km, which means you have no idea what you're doing.
4. Your sig is an adf.ly link.
But in case you're really aiming for 1 million Km, that is 1,000,000,000 tracks long, I can only say, may you have a pleasant journey into the Far Lands.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Air-dropped bombs come in 3 flavours, distinguished by their intelligence: smart, dumb and retarded.
This task, thanks to glitches caused by extremely far distances, is impossible. The game will crash at round about 1.2% of the distance you want to travel.
I also think this is a moneymaking scam. Who would ask for a donation so they can do attempt something impossible?
Just to clear things up, his minecart track has turns in it, who says he'll get anywhere near the farlands? Im pretty sure I could rig up a system that covers over a thousand blocks in a single chunk by going up and down multiple levels.
Also the donations thing is just absurd, but he isn't forcing you to donate..
Im not forcing you to donate,
i want to make a time lapse and i need fraps (im not torrenting it :sleep.gif:)
Ill put up some pics of my track :smile.gif:
If you can prove that you are about 20% of your original goal (1 million Kilometer), then i would donate... and since you said it would not be in a straight line, you probably need to do it manually.
sine, if you are using that much time on this, you deserve some kind of pay, a lot of people are going to be entertained by this.
(oh, i say 20% because, like any other site that take donations, got to have something to show for it)
Checked the link, actually somewhat long, 10km maybe? this is PURE guessing, maybe i did not go trough it all, looked like the beginning, and minecraft laggs like hell after 10minutes in any world :tongue.gif:
oh, and, started to think about something, would 1mil km be possible if it spiraled? maximized the room it used?
Minecraft isn't a world, it's a universe.
It can go as far as
999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,
