Ok, Halloween is 2 weeks gone. The constant screaming and scary noises were kinda cool and provided a nice atmosphere at first, keeping you on edge, making you look over your shoulder, but now they're just irritating. In fact, they are so overwhelmingly played that it seems that they don't even mean anything anymore, other than an excuse to make sounds. Every other sound in the game has an associated meaning or a warning tied to it that makes sense to us as a player. Zombie moaning, skeleton bones knocking, spiders screeching. What good is all the howling and screaming when it means absolutely nothing beyond "OMG THE NETHER IS SCARY BE AFRAID." With a stack or two of cobblestone in your toolbar, Ghasts are rather trivial now. Zombie Pigmen are no threat unless you tick them off. After spending about 2 weeks there, it's no longer scary, and I'd rather run around the Nether dodging fireballs (which isn't hard considering they just move in a straight line) than run around outside my base at night, because my chances of dying are even lower.
The random OMG SCARY noises were fun at first, but their time has passed.
