I saw that Notch had added a nifty little Texture Pack Picker thingy in the main menu of the game. But I don't see mine anymore after I had some troubles with installing a texture pack. I deleted my Minecraft.jar and updated and everything, still nothing. Anyone else not seeing it either?
EDIT: New problem. Deleting the Minecraft.jar doesn't work, it just makes me freeze at the Loading Screen, never changing from "Updating Minecraft - Done loading"
I can fix this be re-storing my old minecraft.jar, but that doesn't have the latest updates. What should I do?

Because it wouldn't let me change it to my avatar.
You have to delete more than just the jar. If you just remove everything but your saves it will work, but I think the minimum amount needed to be gone is the version file. Minecraft thinks it is already updated due to it being there.

Hey, guys.
Beta = released to the public.
Minecraft Alpha is Beta.
And don't turn this statement into an argument, please.

Ok, when you install a texture pack, you don't do it the old way. You do it the new way. If you were doing it the old way, that's why the texture picker disappeared: Because you broke the game by hacking into it.
Just put the appropriately structured ZIP file in the appropriate place. Nothing more than that.
