I almost had a lucid dream. The moment I realized I was dreaming I woke up, even after trying hard not to. D: I was sad that night.
That would suck. As I was looking through the link a person posted above I saw that when you realize you are dreaming, try to not think about it. Next time try spinning around. I also saw that touching things, feeling the weight, and listening to what you hear will keep you awake.
dude.........i had a lucid nightmare, i did not know how to control it but i knew i was dreaming cuz i remember i was running and it said that this dream sucks....but the nightmare was that i was in a graveyard and death (A.K.A grim reaper) was there, i ran through my past school and on the other side he teleported and ripped me in half...........
Lucid dreaming means you CAN control it. There is another name for the state of being able to somewhat think while dreaming.
I have them about twice a week sometimes more sometimes less.
I have tried doing some crazy things while lucid dreaming but usually it wakes me up, the craziest thing that I have done (and not woken up straight away is turning my arm into that of a massive beast to take out the people who were after my family.
Other than that I can do all of the Flying, teleporting etc... without really trying its more when I try to change things into something that has a lot of detail in it that I wake up (for example: I once tried to change myself into a dragon but woke up during the change).
Edit: I've never had a lucid dream that I cant control as far as I remember.
One time to find a private place to kiss a girl.
Others I'd rather not tell.
I never TRY to have them, they just happen. They've stopped being as frequent now though. In fact, since school started this year I haven't been remembering ANY of my dreams at all.
EDIT: Here's the weirdest one. I dreamed that if I could "save" someone, I could jump up and "fly" by dog-paddling in mid-air. At one point I wanted to fly, and for some reason Homer Simpson was there and I pushed him then caught him to make myself fly.
I also had a lucid dream in which there was another man pretending to be my dad, and he looked like my dad but was kinda creepy and always grinned, and it ended up with a chase in a super market with the fake dad running from my real dad. Man that one was confusing.
I was 7, and I dreamed of a gradnma who was lokking in my wardrobe (where there is only cloths) I screamed, so she did a 180, took a kind of yellow plastic nail, and when the nail touch my hand, I woke up.
It was so real I though it was totally a real stealer this morning.
Edit:I don't even know what a lucid dream is and "look it up" is not a good description so I can understand.

A lucid dream is a dream that you have some form of control over it.
Wait, then that means every dream I've had that I remember is a lucid dream, maybe, I'm not aware that I'm dreaming at the time, but I still have control over what I do, just not what anyone else does.

I am so excited to get in to this.
After looking through this some more I found amazingly useful things. I am going to start with this soon, and I found a good method.
Here is the link for it for anyone who is wondering:

"I would like to announce to everyone that this is a dream!"
Then I shot up through the ceiling and woke up.
Ive had lucid dreaming before, a bunch actually.
You have it backwards, lucid dreaming is simply being aware, dream control is being able to control it.
Sadly, I rarely have either (makes life confusing on the rare occasion when I do remember my dreams though).

That happened to me in a (non-lucid) dream when I was mauled by a jaguar in a circus.
OT: I have never had a lucid dream, but if I did I would listen to some music. APPARENTLY, if that happens then you get to listen to the best music.

I can move by myself in some dreams and talk in some of them.
are theses lucid dreams?
I believe they are, yes.
