my best friend was diagnosed with mid ulcertive coilitus and Crohn's disease, hypoglycemia and like one other, all at the same time. She should be dead, but her parents were rich enough to pay all her bills.
The silver lining is she cant get drunk no matter how much she drinks cause of short gut syndrome.
No, I'm talking about the stupid response you left.
No need to get snide about it. It makes sense to me, because here in America the insurance companies won't pay for anything, really. So I think he's being sarcastic when he hasn't been diagnosed with anything; it's not like he hasn't had health problems ever, it's just that no matter what happens he can't get proper care.
I was diagnosed with cervical tumors last year at the ripe old age of 27, but because I've been to the doctor before for severe cramps, they wrote it off as a "pre-existing condition". So I can't even afford to get the cancer out of my body. This is the M.O. for american health insurance companies. They take your money and will find ANY reason not to pay it back out to those who put into it. Lucky for me, my tumors are very slow-growing and I've got some time to save up before I'm in trouble.

... I have no words to express how I feel about this. I'm so glad to have proper care in Canada.
Seriously though... Best of luck. You're always welcome to come here, especially if you like deer bacon and moose sausage.

Yeah...too bad he basically lied about a bunch of stuff he promised to implement, health care included. At least we've got HIPPA now, which is a good start!

I LOFF eating deer and mooses! Hehe! I also live just a couple of hours south of Vancouver. But I don't think I can legally just drive up there for a surgical procedure and then mosey on back; if it worked that way I would so be there

Oh crazy, we must not be too far apart. I'm on Vancouver Island, so I'm technically south of the border :biggrin.gif:
I think if someone's on vacation and they get hurt then we'll treat 'em for free, but I don't think you can just show up and be like "ohh nooo my tumor is suddenly acting up, good thing I'm in Canada, eh?"
No joke, that X-Ray looks very similar to what my back looked like before surgery.
Hiatal Hernia. (google it, I'm not explaining it.)
In regards to my back. I had to get surgery to fix my Scoliosis back in 5th grade. I have two metal rods that have fused together 3 of my Vertebra. It stunted my growth pretty bad. I'm 5'6 when I should be between 6'2 - 6'6

A friend of mine has this and wears this massive back brace for it. Goes right around her whole torso like an exoskeleton. We were playing soccer one time and the ball was coming right at her stomach, so she pretended to do a super-macho ab flex and the ball bounced right off. Everyone else was just gaping at her (because they didn't know about the brace) and I was just laughing my ass off.
Hmm... I most likely have OCD and ADD, and possibly Aspergers, but I'm too lazy to get an official diagnosis and don't really see a point in getting one.

Well that sounds super-disgusting. My scoliosis isn't that bad. It's still curved enough to be noticeable, but it doesn't limit me from doing anything. I just get some minor pains where I just need to pop everything back into place. But it does hinder my growth as well. I would feel like I would be much taller if my back were straight.

A lot of kids claim to have those, and often use them as a crutch to explain away bad behavior and/or garner pity from others. I sincerely hope you aren't that type, but until you bother to get diagnosed then you shouldn't go around claiming to have those disorders.
I have the first two. Or had. I still combat what is at times very severe Asthmatic(THough very rarely fortunately) attacks, but I have not faced Eczema in a couple of years now, though I used to have absolutely terrible eczema.
Trichotillomania.
It's legit. It's been a real problem in my life at times, fortunately I managed to control it more. It used to be really bad but now I only occasionally suffer the symptoms, and usually in small amounts.
A few years back I was diagnosed with Dyspraxia which is very similar to dyslexia except it affects your motor skills.
It's a bit of a pain as it makes it harder for me to drive a manual, play sports that involve hand-eye coordination or handwrite but after living with it for so long you kind of get used to it.
pectus excavatum and out-toeing. Never got either one fixed. I want to, but both aren't significantly causing harm to me yet, so it's not really worth the hassle.

i do have aspergers and have seen a therapist and he diagnosed me. i dont use it as an excuse but my sister does. (aspergers runs in the family)
Health insurance, what is that? Oh, just something we can't afford and wouldn't help us if we could.

What is IBS? I've either forgotten or never heard of it.

That's the extent of my medical animosities as well. :/
