Soo, the Us army invented beam lasers and launched them into space without telling anyone?

Hmmm... I think it may be fake... If you watch closely you can see a small white outline around the satelitte, hinting that it is photoshopped. It won't surprise me if it's real though. I am not an expert.
Orbital lasers killing people sounds fake in itself. Generating the power to fire a strong enough laser to do more than blind people would be ridiculously impractical as far as I know.

Sorry, but we are talking about offensive weapons here not defensive weapons. There is an INSANE difference between the two lasers.
The Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser (COIL) on-board the ABL is capable of melting through the casing of a ballistic missile and igniting its fuel from a distance of hundreds of kilometers away. The same laser is also theoretically capable of destroying other aircraft. A high-powered destructive laser is what it is. And the COIL is undoubtedly more powerful than whatever they used to melt the plastic casing on that outboard in the video. The insane difference is in favor of the ABL.

The COIL does way more than blind people. It vaporizes metal in a matter of seconds. How practical it is depends on what else can do the job that it does. It's efficient enough that everything it needs to find targets, track targets, adjust for atmospheric disturbances, engage and destroy it's target, and switch to the next target fits on-board a 747-400 along with enough fuel to give it a range comparable to any other 747-400.

No, sir. Those are clearly the edge of the reflective surface of the satellite.
Orbital space pirates?
WITH TOP HATS?
WE'RE DOOMED!
aw gees
Sometimes I wonder if it's all too easy.
Lying, cheating, stealing your way to victory.
Though just how far would you fall for a dream?
Anything in space above earth that isn't plummeting towards us is in orbit, right?

They've been brainwashed by orbital space pirates.
Yay I posted this first

I also interpreted the wiggly part as a superheated trail of melted stuff.
What the heck are those lumps in the beam? And that doesn't even look like Earth. *looks at image file name* That explains it.
Loosely speaking, yes. I don't see the connection with my quote there.

Said the pot to the kettle.
Accursed space pirates! I thought I killed the least of them with my energy beam!
I've ZOOMED AND ENHANCED EVEN FURTHER!
Not only are they pirates, THEY'RE NAZIS TOO!
To be fair, the public has a hard time using reason when upset.
Wait..
That's our friend germony!
We're looking at a conspiracy by our European allies!

In other words, any such device would have to point over lots of places that weren't in any way connected to the collection point.
