Do you have mood swings? I don't really understand the concept of one myself.
How can someone just randomly become pissed off or happy for no reason what-so-ever? People say it comes with puberty but I've never encountered mood swings, and I'm 15 as of now. (And no I'm not a "late bloomer," in fact, probably an "early bloomer" haha.) But I have friends that have mood swings and I just find it bizarre how that could happen, I mean being bipolar is one thing, but mood swings aren't a disease/medical condition.
Or is it just "a chick thing"?
Anyways, do you have mood swings?
EDIT: To clarify, I have never had a mood swing, I'm just wondering if anyone else does though.
Bipolar disorder is usually not random, sudden mood changes. It's basically defined as having mania, but usually after a couple of days or weeks that changes into depression and back again. Bipolar disorder on Wikipedia
If you're just discussing women, a lot of women (from an early age and onward) deal with hormones. These tricky little things cause chemical imbalances that cause mood swings. Sort of like how pregnant women can go from happy to crying their eyes out for no reason.
There are some things that balance out these weird hormone reactions, but in general it's something that just has to be dealt with.
Not all women are mood-swingy, either, keep in mind.
I am a guy, but my mood is most of the time screwed if I get woken up by somebody yelling or something, so you are not the only one, I think it is not a chick thing.
I don't think you understand what he's saying.
Are you talking about bad mood, or moodswings?
Edit: Wow, alot of you guys are talking about CHANGINg moods, not randomly swinging moods.
Such as, for no reason, being happy then angry.
It's called Bipolar, and yes many chicks have it.
Some guys, but most of them are pussies.

Haha, I don't have mood swings myself, I was wondering if anyone else does. And that's probably not a mood swing, just a bad mood.

This isn't about girls, I was just asking "or is it a "chick thing"" because most of my friends who do have mood swings are girls, but this wasn't directed at women in any way, it was just to see if anyone else does.
I do have moodswings, but not without reason. There's always something triggering a rather drastic change of mood.
Wouldn't that be different than a moodswing then? Because from what I've always been told I thought mood swings were just random changes in mood. That seems to be more like something put you in a good or bad mood. If that was a moodswing, then I think everyone in the world has moodswings because we all can be put into a good or bad mood, haha.
There is a difference between Bipolar Disorder and plain old changes in hormones.
Bipolar is moodswings, as in changing moods or feelings about someone or something.
I was not saying biploar was changing moods, which seems to be what everyone is talking about.
Many posters here seem to be confusing moodSWINGS, with mood changing.

You are correct.

Bipolar disorder, as I said before, is characterized by manic episodes and usually but not always depressive episodes. They don't happen within the space of a day, it's more over the time of days or even weeks.
It's all about hormone regulation - during for example; say the menopause, the bodies hormone levels are changed (because hormones control pretty much everything). But hormones aren't a perfect system, they basically flood the body and get all over the place - including the brain. Then these hormones throw brain chemistry out of whack and brew up the ideal conditions for hyper-sensitivity to stimuli.
So what, under normal brain chemistry, might produce a mild response (ie. you might satirically say "you smell!", which might produce a aggressive, but playful "oi") but under abnormal brain chemistry this stimuli is amplified and produces a over-reactive aggression (ie. they might decide to storm off and not say anything).
Mood swings work on this same amplification principle so both good and bad stimuli are amplified and produce a sort of roller-coaster effect where usually it would just be rolling hills (referring to plotting mood on a line graph).
At least, that is my simplistic take on how it works. I don't know how accurate or inaccurate it is, but considering you can utilize hormones to dull emotions (ADHD medicine), or create bias towards particular emotions (anti-depressants/depressants, anti-paranoia medicine/marijuana).
Assuming I got it entirely wrong, you could just cherry-pick information. Mood swings are nothing more than amplified natural responses brought upon by abnormal physiological/psychological states.

Bitches be crazy.
Hahaha, I'll remember that all throughout my lifetime now....

...Have a nice day!
Sounds like a no..... haha.
But OT, not really.
I'm sure puberty's a ***** to someone else...
