I love all the Americans in this thread, apologizing to the Europeans for their country, you sound like gigantic tools.
"Aw gee im totally sorry for my country, let me just apologize and kiss up to you because you point out atrocities, and ignore your own."
Seriously, if all these people want to point out atrocities, lemme just throw these out here...

I live in the U.S. and.......I ****ing hate it. Most people here treat other countries like **** and it pisses me off.
It's called Nationalism. Americans are indoctrinated with an "Us vs Them" attitude from an early age. It probably happens elsewhere too but I've never been outside of the USA so I can't verify that.
Let Americans complain about america, get your own country to ***** about. you can say that your brother is a tool and a horrible person, but would you like it if a random stranger came up to you and said it? most people wouldnt.
i believe that our American government is overreaching and bad, but that doesnt give you the right to spew that little tidbit as an example of everyone in america. how many politicians in ANY country actually give a good example of the people they represent?
during the spanish-american war, people were infuriated about a letter sent by a spanish ambassador which, when intercepted by an american newspaper, said the president was weak and useless. most people agreed; that didnt make it acceptable for a foerigner to say whatever he wanted to about the country, right or wrong.
if you're going to make a statement about America, be logical, and keep the air of superiority at home. it makes you sound like a bigot, and it certainly doesnt make you cool. of course im no better, and i probably sound arrogant here already xD
I think USA could put way less money in their military and could actually take care of their citizens for a change. Apart from that I can't really think of anything.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot taking care of your own people is communism. Forget what I just said.
Nah, the military needs the most funding of all! Who needs the moon, when you can have Afghanistan? It looks almost identical, and at least you can breath there! It's not like humankind is doomed if we never leave Earth! Hah!

Actually my sister (don't have a bother) is a *****. If someone complained about her to me I'd probably tell them to avoid her. That's what I do. Many people don't particularly care for the behavior of their siblings/parents. Many people don't particularly care for the behavior of their Government.

Welcome to the World Community. Do you think we Americans don't comment about other countries? Many Americans don't know **** about the French Government but doesn't stop them from making jokes about it.

LOLwut? So you can't make an observation about a country if you aren't a citizen? Wow. I'd hate to see what would have become of Nazism if that were true.
if you're going to make a statement about America, be logical, and keep the air of superiority at home. it makes you sound like a bigot, and it certainly doesnt make you cool. of course im no better, and i probably sound arrogant here already xD
Air of superiority or negative reaction? Just because someone doesn't think your country is the bees knees doesn't mean they're a bigot.
Hey, I'm not hating on America, just Americans. It's funny cause most of us are too stupid to know that most of the world thinks were snobby bastards, and that is actually kind of true. Well at least that goes for the rich people.

Well, that's pretty much how rich people are everywhere, in general. (look at all those celebrities with messed up lives)
And on History channel I went through TWO programs about how bad 9/11 was and they didn't mention Hiroshima one time,I DON'T CARE,I WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING
What does Hiroshima have to do with 9/11? Why do you actually expect Hiroshima to be mentioned in a 9/11 documentary? That makes no sense.
I was in a McDonalds one time a couple of years ago, behind this guy with a very heavy, what you would call, Texan accent. He was trying to get one of those supersize deals they dont offer up here. The cashier at the front tried very hard to explain that its not offered in Canada, but the man and his wife wouldnt have it. They believed McDonalds was operated the same around the world and could not understand that the supersizing of meals wasnt popular outside the US and wasnt offered. He yelled and hollared at what I believe to be either the Assistant or Manager of the McDonalds before storming out with basically a free extra meal instead.
Now to my understand, the idea when Americans go abroad is that when they dont comprehend/understand or dont like something, they simply get louder and while I found that was a misconception, being in the States in Florida a year later (at Disney World) actually showed that this is actually a very accurate stereotype. (I dont mean to say all Americans are like this). SOME Americans are simply rude by nature. THey believe they are entitled to be served whatever they want whereever they want and when they dont get it, they make it known.
It seems you guys are just used to living in a country where the average person is rude to one another. This is coming from a person who lives in a country where at a stop sign you and another lady spend 2 minutes offering to let the other go first.
I know a few Americans who are a pleasure to be around, but it seems the average American is a rude bigot.
Sorry.

Nah it's true. S'what happens when your country is nothing but narcissists. I mean hell...you can't go anywhere without hearing..."the best country in the world".
You know what I say. I say the whole world should hate itself, because the only crisis most people are thinking about right now is the economic crisis all over the world and not important stuff like the wars going on and the rebellions and revolutions. I mean is money all we care about. If so, we should all hate the whole world.

Hahahaha. That is so true. I mean people get pissed off at me when I say stuff like that about America, because, well, I live in America. They try and deny it, but sadly it's true. That's why I would so rather live in a different country.

Your avatar is so perfect for this.
As an American I don't disagree with the assessment.
