Because Steam games update more frequetly as in case TF2 comes out with new guns,Hats,Maps and more. While Xbox comes out with Market Place items say only every 5 months,And you can get mods and addons on pc,with xbox live you can't. Also because theres alot more games on PC like Flight Simulator X for example.

"...But don’t worry, you’re not alone, there are many men like you left in the world, and some of them even used to be your friends. After all, this is America, and we only kill our friends." - Immortal Technique
I have a PC and i occasionally play console.
PCs definitly have more pros!
PC
More options
Have more capabilities than console
More games
More updates
More speed
better chance of not randomly dying (xBox 360)
More updatable
Can be easily be upgraded or fixed
CAN BE FIXED!
Console
games tend to be more centered towards console users
are cheaper to buy
a bit more of a closed community
harder to get hackedish(not really...)
In the end, consoles are hyped up to lure poor, ignorant people into a sometimes more expensive investment than the PC they already own.Plus, you cant get a made-to-order or DIY-ed computer that fits all of your needs and a lot more while giving a huge amount of speed.
Besides, you sound like an angry KD ***** who flips out after dying twice in an overpriced first-person shooter, makes up flawed reasons for why your precious console is awesome, and probably hasn't left your house for 3 days.
For the majority, I don't think console gaming is much cheaper than PC gaming, if at all. Some people will argue that a PC costs some amount of dollars, compared to a 300 dollar Xbox. Thus proving that consoles are cheaper. But, this argument fails to tank into account that many people who play console games, also have a computer. So they don't have to go out and buy a brand new computer, many of them just need a graphics card. A lot of decent PC hardware can be had for 300 bucks.
As far as functionality, there is no argument, PC wins. There is so much more you can do with a PC. How much storage does your console have? My PC has 4TB. I can also install any software I want on my PC, consoles will only let you use it's storage for what their manufacturers want you to use it for.
Even though it is clear that a PC has more to offer, there are still good reasons to own a console. Consoles are easy. I don't know if you have tried to set up a PC in a living room, but I have. It's not terribly hard, but its definitely on a different level than setting up a console. Some may find that they just don't have enough room for a PC. Consoles are also easy to take with you and set up somewhere else.
So, which one is better? This question is lame. It serves no real purpose, because there is no real answer. The one that is best is the one that satisfies your requirements and some of your desires.

If you thought I had anything useful to say
I'm too lazy to read this full thread right now. But I think PC gaming is best simply because it facilitates modding. I have several console games that have bugs/glitches (or just were UNFINISHED!) and if they had been released on PC they could have been modded and made better. One of my favorite games was released for Original Xbox and was never ported to PC. The game has huge gaps in the code, typos which altered game mechanics, and glitches. It is obvious that the game was rushed out the door and is unfinished. If it was on PC it would have been fixed several times over by now.

You can also watch four girls getting it on while checking yo email and blasting some noob online on the PC. On consoles, it's only one of those options at a time.
- Graphics/Mechanics have more freedom to detail
- Mods, patches, and support is more easily available
- Dedicated servers alongside matchmaking (Some console games have these, too, but are much more common throughout PC games)
Developers have to run with the knowledge of pirating and such. If coming out with a new, ingenuous project on the PC, it will probably reach a wider audience quicker.
I personally am a console gamer, but I respect PC gaming, too.
One thing PC falls down on
AND YOU CAN'T DENY
..is directional control,
yeah sure the mouse is good for aiming,
but keys are kinda **** for movement control
Well, I have a 360, PS3 and a decent computer. And I prefer my PC mainly because I have Steam to chat to friends easily, get better graphics, and can sit in my awesomely comfortable leather computer chair.
I also seem to aim better with a mouse than a clunky joystick.
Hours of funny stuff!

Care to say what that game was?

That pretty much does it for me. All the extra goodies that come with PC gaming are just extra.

For example a newly released game, say Portal 2, may cost about 40 euros, whereas on the console it costs almost the double.
(And no these aren't the actual prices. I just used XE to convert my currency to euro.)
WELL I WON'T LET YOU!
Nope.avi
you gotta think of the upgrade and peripherals cost too
I was talking about games, Mr.FancyPants.
It's IMPERATIVE to take into account, all costs
