Yeah, I love reading on twitter how Mojang are spending the money people paid to play Minecraft. It's up to them to do what they want with that money of course, can't wait for more bug-fixes. Looks like Minecraft is almost complete; only the API to do now...

YEP!
And I was right! NO SNAPSHOT THIS WEEK - dinnebone,
On the contrary though, Mojang will not simply STOP releasing upsates, there will always be updates as long as someone is working on the game. And if they stop, Modders will come together and Make legacy Minecraft a thing.
As long as a single bug is annoying the players, mojang will be there,
as long as theres a feature 95% of the community needs, mojang will be there.
However, the features for 1.6 are not all that important. New blocks? Horses?
Meh.
Thank you!
And this post is simply for the new people that come on here asking, "whats next?"I Have also just added all the color combinations of horses and more info on them.
Minecraft will never be completed IMO.It's far from it right now actually. It needs a LOT more mobs (Lions, Sharks, Dragons, etc.), a LOT more biomes, some more weapons and tools, better NPC's, and a LOT more generated structures.
I want to see some new biomes in this next update. MC 1.2 was really exciting when jungle biomes came out, but there hasn't been a biome update since. I would love to see some new biomes.

Just because you think Minecraft needs all those things to complete it, that's not necessarily the view of Mojang. Everything they add only pleases half the community and many more people work at making mods (for free) than work on vanilla. How can Mojang possibly compete with that amount of content? The only reasonable role they've still to play is creating a platform to regulate and standardise mods (or plugins) to work with the core game, and if possible make all aspects of Minecraft modifiable so that a suggestion can quickly become a feature.
Can this be pinned and could the 1.5 compilation be put down?
Thank you very much for the support of my topic... Unfortunately the op of the Pinned 1.5 feature thread has edited that one to a 1.6 thread making mine look duplicate..
I have requested a mod to look at it and Haven't gotten a response.. of course there WAS some back lash at me saying his is better, which doesn't matter, I was here first about 1.6
I hope there's something in the upcoming snapshots to really sink my teeth into. Horses are fine I guess, but I've used them on SSP, and one feature does not an update make.
Bugfixes are all well and good though a lot are created by recent changes such as the Resource pack thing. Roll on plugin API...

Now I am re-adding launcher versions
Minecraft will never be complete.
Not while there's still bugs to fix, and money to make.
There will always be bugs to fix and things they add,
The API is just so people don't have to use forge or modloader, that add tons of files to the .minecraft folder that become useless after an update.
They aren't gonna stop adding vanilla features and leave it to mod makers.
Praise be to Spode.
