Oh, wait, I forgot to add something else here.
Bonemeal grows a random number of Grass, Flowers, and Roses when it is used on Grass Blocks.
STILL RANDOM!!!
I do understand and again, I agree. It is much easier to plant and forget crops than to kill skeletons with Bonemeal. That's why I don't get why people are complaining about the change to bonemeal.
The reason I'm complaining is that the people who are saying that Bonemeal was OP and this balances it make no sense whatsoever.
You, yourself, somehow believe that getting a piece of Bread per Bone is OP, when you'll have much better sources of food on day one.
That, and this nerf forces everyone to make a farm to survive, instead of having the option to live off of Bonemeal.

I don't know about you, but if you don't have a farm, you are pretty much the dumbest Minecraft player out there. Be it a Mushroom, Wheat, Melon, Carrot, Potato, Pumpkin, Skeleton, Zombie, Spider, Nether Wart, Cocoa Bean, or Passive Animal Farm you should have at LEAST 1.

Ever heard of a Bread Maker?
It practically is a farm, one that allows a player to live off of Bonemeal, instead of forcing them into planting fields.
And it does, basically, require a Skeleton farm to work.
I keep forgetting to say this every time I'm on here:
Mojang needs to make it to where you can cook eggs in a furnace. Mmm... eggs.

and Tacos.
Steak, Pork, or Chicken Tacos. Preferably all three.

The "device" created using an advanced Redstone system to instantly grow one patch of Wheat using Dispensers and harvesting said Wheat with a Piston that uses Hoppers to fill Chests so that you don't have to let the stuff grow while you do other things?
I don't know about you, but I'd rather use my Redstone for other, more practical, and fun things than making a Wheat growing system that could only be operational with the new updates to Dispensers anyway. I like my Piston Doors, my Clock. my Compass, my Maps, and my Automated Defense Systems more.

I said it was optional. You weren't forced to make it, and by no means was growing food with Bonemeal anything close to the best choice you could make.

At least you're willing to admit to it...
Be it 1, 2-4, or 7 Bonemeal that you use in that "device", does it really matter when you have an infinite number of Bones from a Skeleton Farm?
In the end, my argument still stands supreme as you admitted you needed to make some kind of farm to survive anyway. No matter how overly complex or outlandish it is, you needed one in the first place to survive. Melon, Carrot, Potato, and Mushroom Farms don't take up much room anyway so space isn't the issue. Hell, you have ALL of the Minecraft world to put farms. Space is the least issue in this argument.
IMHO I don't think the balanced version of it is terrible...
But if it was to be changed I think they should ditch randomness and go with Wheat = 3, Carrots & Potatoes = 4, GIANT mushrooms = 10, Trees (Birch & Oak normal sized) = 2, LARGE oaks = 3, Pine = 5, Jungle Trees = 6, Cocoa Beans = 2 THOSE VALUES MAKE SENSE AND ARE NOT RANDOM! Also the values should change with difficulty! These values would be for easy. Normal would add 10%, and Hard would add 25%, Peaceful would make the values 1/3 the easy ones! Also on hard 1 bone is only 1 bonemeal! Just some ideas... but again... not a big deal... except for adventure maps... adventure and creative modes should have instagrow bone meal...
I have no clue, because I'm sure I didn't say you did not need to make a farm of some sort.
I said that you are practically forcing the player to plant a farm.
Now I remember.
I was saying that you'd need a farm PERIOD. Doesn't matter what kind. You'd need one to get food anyway.
It's not like they're forcing anything since you'd get all the Bones you'd need from a Skeleton Farm or all the Wheat from a Wheat Farm or Chickens from a Chicken Farm.
A farm is a farm is a farm.
Unless you like doing the "Hunter-Gatherer" thing in which case this whole argument is moot since you'd rather live like a Nomad like Cro Magnon aka Homo Erectus aka Cave Man vs settling down in one spot and doing the "Farmer-Fisher" thing like Homo Sapiens aka the other peoples. Either case, you do what you do and quit complaining since it doesn't matter one way or the other.
Oh good, realism. I know I've always complained about how gamebreaking my wheat production was.
Hopefully we'll get an update on gravity next. Being able to float blocks in the air with no support under them is completely OP and it needs to be fixed. I mean, really... being able to walk backwards and build a levitating line of stone a hundred blocks long to span a chasm? What crap. That needs fixed!

Realism is never what minecraft focus's on
Gravity will most likely never get updated
If your looking for something realistic then minecraft isn't for you

No need to be sarcastic...
Also, it's not like they Nerfed Bonemeal THAT much. So you use one Bone rather than 1/3rd of one to grow something. It's better than 2 1/3 Bones for 1 Wheat. Maybe they'll add some more crops or uses for Bonemeal to make up for it?
There is need to be sarcastic, because the nerf to Bonemeal was completely unneeded and the people who claim that Bonemeal was OP have no actual evidence to support their claim, other than their opinion.

I kinda live my Minecraft life under a few simple rules. You wanna hear them?
Rule 1: It's not my game so when Mojang does something (like add Fireworks) when they could be doing something else a little more important (like Optimizing the game), I have to deal with it.
Rule 2: Irrelevant stuff is exactly that. Be it Bonemeal, Wool, or different colored Wooden Steps, it doesn't matter if it's Green, Red, Black, Pink, or White, Light, Dark, or Cherry, 1, or 3. If it's not too outlandish, it's just another slot in my inventory and/or another use to make up for it.
Rule 3: If I want a specific something or just more in general, I play with a Mod or Mod Pack installed.
Rule 4: If I don't like it's look, I install a Texture Pack.
Rule 5: If I really gave a damn, I know how to program Java and could very easily modify the numbers to make it work the way I wanted it to.
You might use some of these rules yourself.

But instant bonemeal will be forever missed. :c
