Well, I really like the hut. It is a nice way to make witches not spawn everywhere, but in a particular place. Most of the complaints I saw in this post are really not that relevant. Its a hut in a swamp, it is suppose to be ugly ( also a crazy witch lives in it ). And for the suggestions, I really like the idea that someone suggested about the chest inside. So it will be a challenge to beat the witch and get inside. Oh and fire under the cauldron - BAD IDEA.
Surely since the witch looks just like a villager, the hut should spawn within villages? I don't see why it has to be all alone, in a village would make a lot more sense assuming the hut is changed to look like an actuaal house rather thaan what it is now, what looks like anyone's first house ever.
Well, what did actual villagers do when they thought there was a witch in their village?
It makes sense that witch huts are away from villages, keeps the villagers from swarming their houses with torches and pitchforks. The fact that it's plain also makes sense - I mean, it's like the witch put it together out of a bunch of swamp wood and elevated it. Nothing fancy, just shelter and a place to do witchcraft.

First of all, that's Oak Logs, Not Spruce: it's Swamp wood! Second of all fire in a Swamp sounds cool.. but in a wooden building? with tons of Trees around? hmm.. well Maybe, if you want to make a really-Cleared, Land-mark (vegetation all blazed away).
The Hut basically seems to be a way to find where a Witch Should spawn - One Witch so far - so no Spawner (a Witch mob farm would be pretty crazy, I just gotta say). Heads would be a cool Chest item, but there could just be a few more dropped-items from the Witch, "it"self; since let's face it, the mob will always be cooler than the building, as it interacts in different ways with the player, right?
I think the hut looks pretty nice, but they clearly don't even check whether it spawned right(the elevated cauldron/craft table). I mean yeah, it's a snapshot, but it would've taken 30 seconds to check that everything was in place.
Even if it had a brew stand people would still go to the nether for wither skulls, gold, soul sand, ghast tears, unlimited lava, blaze rods for potions, one netherwart.
I wouldn't mind it at all if minecraft items had levels of items. As in the alchemist has a level 1 brew stand that only makes a few potions and the nether has a level 2 stand. And by combining the alchemist and with the nether you get level 3. Furnaces has needed an upgrade for ages.

I guess ur right. but to many things now spawn in the over world. As in glowstone can be traded with villagers, and zombie pigmen can spawn near the portal, and once a ghast spawned near my portal! o_o
I like the design, but I agree that it needs to be 1 block taller.
Also: nice attention to detail, Mojang. Giving a hut in a tropical location stilts.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
I'm surprised they didn't go with a mushroom house. It's about the same size, and is biome apprpriate. I would imagine a witch would use bone meal to grow a hut before punching trees.
Me too but as my programmer friends say, "Let's call it a feature!"

Well, Cauldrin's are a "Wtich" thing anyways. Brewing stands are much more of a "Scientist" thing.
1. Floating Cauldron and Crafting Table
2. Its a wee bit too small, maybe make it a couple blocks larger, and raise the roof a block.
Think I will be on here often? Haha no.

A spawner...With what she can drop? Go afk a few hours with a kill machine and come back to stacks of redstone, glowstone, gunpowder.
