Derp, I had forgotten about trading, but there would have been a way to do it without that.
Form a nether portal with lava and water buckets, then get flint by having a creeper explode. Combine that with iron from a generated structure, light the portal, make your way into a nether fortress (kind of hard considering they are usually in the air, then kill some blazes, mix blaze powder with ender pearl, go from there.

Super Hostile maps I've completed: Spellbound Caves (Yeah, I pretty much suck.)
With the new trading, it is possible. You can live in a village and buy some swords, kill endermen, create a nether portal using buckets, craft ender eyes with the village's workbench (library), find a stronghold and... Hm, find creepers to explode and dig down to the stronghold :3
Actually, you don't need swords, and you don't need a crafting table to craft eye of enders. (You can craft the eye of enders in the 2 x 2 grid in your inventory.)
You can't put "beat" and "Minecraft" in the same sentence unless the sentence says "you can't beat minecraft".
It would be possible, if not annoying as heck, to do it. There is a seed (I forgot what it was) that has a ravine with the stronghold library in it, but you can still use creepers to get in the stronghold.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

There's some seeds where strongholds spawn in oceans and you can literally swim into the portal room.
It is impossible. There is no way to get to the nether because you cannot place water or lava from buckets. The only way would be to somehow have endermen make the portal shape in lava then have a block destroyed causing water to fall on the lava. Then lightning would have to hit wood next to it and cause the portal to light. Basically impossible.

You can channel the water and/or lava.

You can find emeralds in chests in jungle temples and desert pyramids. Use those to trade with a priest for ender eyes. Fix the portal, punch the dragon to death.

I belived 22a Jeb removed the Eye of the Ender from trading. Also an each way to get emeralds from Villagers is to give them wool. You can get iron from zombies or hidden chests. Make shears, find a village jump on the wheat to pick it up. Use it to lure sheep into a farm. Then sell the wool to villagers.

It's important to have at least one sword in case of emergency :3
I just used creative mode in the latest snapshot to check for ender eyes. My 14th Priest was selling it for 7 emeralds. So it is still possible to get to the end in adventure mode.
- Using the wool breeding method listed above (jump on wheat to get a wheat item, use it to lure sheep for wool harvesting) we can get lots of emeralds. The best place i've found to harvest your wool is in the back yard of a villager house which has the 2 doors and the fenced in yard. This allows you to trap the sheep in the back yard using the doors to keep them there.
- Diamond armor and weapons, and arrows and food can be obtained from villagers.
- Bows (and enchanted bows) are the most important weapon during the enderdragon fight and these can be obtained from skeletons.
If the stronghold is buried we can use creepers to blast our way in.
As long as you can place ender eyes in the stronghold we can do this. I'm testing now.
I think the "Adventure Mode" is suppose to be for maps made by players and hopefully over the Summer Mojang will make some maps for us. Just my opinion.
this is honestly the only justification I can think of with this lol, I mean cmon you fall down a 2deep hole and you're screwed...game over.
Damn. The only thing blocking the way is opening the damn gate.
Well, we could just set the game mode to survival for the placement of the ender eyes, then switch back to adventure.
That`s the closest of a solution I can think to a vanilla challenge.

This means you can not access the end in adventure mode.

I'm just a Minecraft player that likes to give my opinion. Nothing special to see here.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :C
But sometimes (extremely rarely) a End Portal spawns fully repaired. :3
