The slenderman meme is amazing and I respect Notch for giving a nod to them, but in the context of the game I feel there is a lot more potential story/lore wise for Farlanders.
Imagine they are actually from the far lands. Why have they come so far from home? What drives them to be where the player is and possibly build there? This to me is far more interesting and several orders of magnitude more creepy than slendermen somehow slipping into MC from the marble hornet's 'verse.
Anyone know if they can move player placed blocks?
It would be rather annoying If and enderman/farlander stole your diamond block.
Also I hope he adds a use for them, like a useful block or item.

Here's a suggestion, don't use diamond blocks xD For me, all my diamonds stay in a chest unless I'm doing pixel art
They really know how to make **** looking screenshots. Minecraft can be so beautiful.
they do that so we dont learn so much about the new update. it already seem about 3 things:
1: zombies, skeleton and spider seem to work together (maybe creeper too)
2:those farlander look not so cute they could be agressives mobs wich work as builder for them
3 skeletons, zombies and farlanders seem to spawn in light now
i think endermen is more creepy and i dont think that picture is really from notch cuz i just was on all of his pages his twitter his minecraft blog and his google+ account

Wearing a pumpkin may stop endermen attacking you (they cant see your face)
There are arrows coming from behind and one is hitting the zombie
One of the endermen iss carrying a dirt blck and smoke is near him, wtf?

What does a pumpkin have to do with it? But there is something up with that pumpkin, why is it all purple? I think it might be night vision, or might just be enhancing. The reason the enderman is not attacking is because the recticle is on it.

Farlanders sound so dumb. They arnt even from the far lands, they should stay endermen. Someone said name it in reference to minecraft. The farlands and endermen have nothing to do with eachother.
On a side note, unless this is SMP, then this picture proves that the NPC villages will be filled with Humans.

Pigmen are the ones that will have villages, not humans. Humans would complicate things, from aesthetics, (they would all look the same) to code (A whole new level of AI intelligence would have to be introduced).

farlander doesnt sound cool at all, it sounds boring and uncreative and a ripoff of highlander

I do textures... Hit me if you want some... They are all free and vanilla quality like...

What if they steal the chest your dimond blocks are in?
It seemed our "friends" the wolves had the sole purpouse to push us off clifs and into lava.
And did anyone else see the arrow sticking out of the zombie in the picture?
