Woah. Calm down there. Sure, the texture for the stone rings on the tripwire arms probably should be 3x3 because they are smaller. But Dinnerbone didn't quite understand this when you were harassing him and just said "But... but... but it's not 16x16 pixels...".You see, all of the textures are under 16x16 pixels. But I see what you're saying, the ring model is smaller, so even though it is only 6x6 pixels, it looks somewhat out of place.
You've got to understand though, a 3x3 texture for the ring would look really flat.... it would do more harm than it would good to lower the resolution of the ring. If it bothers you though, you can always lower the resolution yourself by modifying the textures.
Dinnerbone has already explained to you why tripwires are going to be added. You just have spent too much time whining about them to think about any good uses for them. They are much different from pressure plates, and I have already explained a few key uses of tripwires that wouldn't work using pressure plates.
So please, stop harassing Mojang staff, and stop making the community look bad.
No one is understanding. The string texture is out of place. The only reason its hardly visible is because the pixels are too small. Do you get it? DO YOU UNDA STAND BRAH?

Well you never directly said it. To be honest though the string texture very well could be 16x or less. It looks repeated 4 times on one block
So once again small pixels, but doesn't really look HD. I don't see a problem with it, especially from the benefits of the smaller pixels.
If I had more time, I would make a "25 uses of tripwires that can't be done with pressure plates" thread.
I seriously don't get why you hate it so much that you have to hate on it using 3+ different accounts.
Here's a use I haven't heard brought up, mob filtering.
Different mobs have different heights, so you could use a vertical stack of tripwires and logic gates to filter mobs.
For instance, you could make one that only activates for chickens (when walking) as they are only one block high, and one only for endermen (as they are very tall).
Here's one I'm going to do:
A piston bridge (that pops out from a wall) that as a whole stays activated when you are on it (1 tripwire across), or one that activates as you are walking across it (many tripwires).

We did not see a fluid merge of SSP and SMP. We saw a horrible system full of bugs, that will fail worse than netflix's qwikster. Fix the things that are in game before you waste our time with things we do not want.
So once again small pixels, but doesn't really look HD.
Have you seen an HD texture pack?
Anyway, my point is, it's really out of place, just by the texture alone. That's all I should really point out here, and if you scale the pixels to the correct size again, then it has no purpose, as the main purpose is that you can hardly see it. Also, the model for the hook is a little too complicated... It's not blocky enough.
Overall it's a good idea, but it just should not be implemented into the game, at least not in its current form. It would make for a great mod, but as a vanilla feature it just doesn't sit right with the theme of Minecraft.
I don't think anyone will be fooled by those tripwires due to that white coloring that is fairly easy to see. Also, the tripwires don't appear to be placable in midair D:
Edit:
Do you want a cookie or something?
In a lot of places they would be easy to see, just like pressure plates, but if placed on snow or white wool, they would be pretty much impossible to see unless you notice the hit box.
Lolno I only have one account, one username, for everything.

That's the problem. In the process of integrating the server and client programs, esc on SP acted as if it was MP - that is, it didn't pause the game when pressed, so when the menu opens that creeper will still blow up in your face.
Please test before you post. This snapshot fixes it so that you can pause again.
As for the tripwire, I see it as more for adventure map makers along with the new adventure mode.
I'm not calling this a stupid idea, 1.but this is far from the RPG elements that Minecraft is supposed to be about. Why are we suggesting such idiotic (to me) ideas of creating more elaborate traps instead of adding more functions to the game to add to the playability of the game? 2.For example, we have a leveling system, why not be able to level each of your stats (Health - up to two rows of hearts, Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Swordsmanship, etc.)
3.With the possibilty of being able to change names, it seems like we're trying to make a giant toybox for griefers now instead of actually giving it some semblance 4.of the RPG that Notch wanted.5.I'm not saying that we shouldn't add this, but that other, better ideas, should be worked on. 6.Who would like to acutally be able to raise a mini Enderdragon from the egg you get from the Nether? 7.How about some Nether ore?
1. Minecraft is not an RPG! 2. Minecraft is not an RPG! (“Hey guys look! I can pwn all of you at PVP because I've played this game 24/7! Yippee!!!”) 3. Changing names doesn't help griefers. 4. Notch said that Minecraft wasn't going to be a RPG. (Guess he sort of forgot, though, seeing the game as it is now.) 5. Like what? ("6" and "7" aren't "better ideas.) 6. Griefers and RPG-addicts. 7. Okay, that would actually be nice.
Overall, a “Can't tell if trolling or stupid,” post that I give :-( ): . (Not 0 because of 1 okay idea and not “txt tlkng” (text talking).)
The people complaining about this are the same people who'll complain about everything. They're just being whiny.
Lolno, were the smart people of the group. Those who actually like the new trip wires are probably 5-12, don't care, or are just happy to see something new in the game. Anyone besides naive children will understand why this shouldn't be in the game. It's sad that there are so few people in this group.
