1. It must be either 1 dollar or free, because MCwiki has much more info, and is free.
2. It shouldn't be under the games category, as it is very misleading as to whether it is a guide or a game.
3. The old one was stuck on beta 1.5 for a while, it wasn't until 1.1 came out that the app had 1.0 info. So it shouldbe updated regularly, like he wiki.
esgnrjnjgu: It's not made by Mojang. It's 'officially endorsed', according to 57digital, but Mojang makes no money off it, nor do they have anything to do with its development.
Dragon Klaw, et al.: Minecraft Canary is pretty much the same thing. It's free with ads, or you can get the ad-free version for .99. Unlike Companion, there is no difference between the two besides the removal of ads. The only features Companion has that Canary does not, as far as I can tell, are searching, seed lists, videos, and the skin editor. Canary is also always updated within a few days of a new Minecraft update.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
GUYS! This is not Mojang's application!! Don't say they are being greedy. All it says is that it is supported by Mojang. Which pretty much means they see that it is a useful application.
no ipod\iphone version. the more of this i see the more i hate the ipad. it gets all the good programs, like procreate and the ipod\iphone get's screwed.
the only app like this one i know of is minecraft explorer app [not sure if the name was changed since] i don't use it simply minecraft is better as far as minecraft ipod\iphone guides go.
It started as an iPod/iPhone version. The app is called "Minecraft Explorer PRO".
Also, to all the uninformed people whining that this info isn't in the game and that Mojang sucks, this isn't Mojang's app. It's someone elses that Mojang has "sanctioned" as in officially supported.
I take this position that no one expects, and with some force. What's with all this 'companion' bull? Is Minecraft too hard? With all that having to use your imagination, I guess I could see how exercising your memory might be hard. Oh, that's right, the app is more likely for people who have to constantly reference the wiki while they play because they don't like any mystery in a title. Thank god you know everything about it easily, now you can get bored of it and move on.
TBH, anyone who buys this is getting ripped off. You're going to pay $3 for an app that provides information you can freely get off of the internet.
Also, doesn't this contradict the Notch/Mojang stance of; "We essentially don't care what you do with content from Minecraft as long as you're not making money from it"?

There's a mod called NEI, like TMI, but gives you a recipe mode option so it's not all cheating.

Shrug - just get NEI and put it in recipe mode if you want recipes in-game.
It's no that hard to use Safari and search minecraft wiki, bookmark it, and do what you need to do...
