what about the new map generator(oceans, bigger mountains), dungeons, enderman (a new mob), sprinting attack and crit damage are new combat elements, ravines, + a bunch of more things
What is it you really want?
Bigger mountains are just bigger, plus, I think that was just Notch playing with the height generation, I don't think he would implement it.
Oceans are just bigger water areas than what we currently have, they won't change anything.
Dungeons aren't very interesting if they don't add anything new but re-textured blocks and different buildings.
Enderman is just ONE mob, one mob for months of waiting.
Sprinting attack and crit damage are absolutely lame, you can't even see them, you just give more damage, what about the animations? The new weapons?
Um, there is going to be no blood, there still IS seed influenced generation and there is still going to be in 1.8, there didnt even say there were randomly generated mineshafts or cobwebs in cave, all they said is that there is going to be cobwebs, and who ever said there was going to be a new log in screen? Notch or Jeb sure didnt. And they said a NEW biome not bigger biomes. (No offance, it just annoys me when ppl r wong xD)
If you watch the video, he says randomly generated mineshafts, theres cobwebs all over the video, they said bigger biomes, and the new log in screen is right there, also in the video. Also, there is blood spurts when you hit someone. The only thing incorrect about my post was the height limit, which I misheard Notch say.
PhantomRock is clearly either trolling or a hater of minecraft. The oceans will play a great deal into gameplay there is now vast space between "massive continents" -notch, so yeah im excited!

Agreed
Considering MC is the ONLY game out there with pretty much a endless world and still in BETA (patches =/= expansion packs) its the one of the best games yet
Notch and the Mojang crew you guys are awesome. Can't wait until it comes out. And i would love it if you really do put in Dragons and if you could ride them :cool.gif:
I think the larger biomes from the vidya are also very impressive. I think that with larger biomes its going to put you into that adventure way of thinking that the update was named for. I also think that with enderman and vast biomes you will actually feel like your stocking up on food weapons arrows pumpkins for protection from enderman and the other mobs when exploring. Its like rpgs when you need certain items for a enemy to kill it or survive.
I didn't see any animal farming. Didn't notice any animal breeding. I've also seen that crops are still being hydrated by having water near them. Was really hoping for an update that would improve the agriculture in the game. I would be really disappointed if these features wouldn't be improved or implemented with this newest patch.
Agriculture is the only thing that would make survival fun and an actual game.
So appearently anyone who expresses his opinion on these forums is a troll \ Minecraft hater \ Party pooper.
That's good to know.
If I was a troll I wouldn't have 800 god damn posts on this forums.
If I was a Minecraft hater I wouldn't buy the game.
If I was a Party pooper you wouldn't be so immature.
Oceans would only cost you more time to get to places.
I want more mobs in the oceans, I want better ways to travel it, I want exclusive blocks for underwater, I want fish mobs and rare builds.
I want attack animations, different looking armour, better ways to travel, a reason to explore.
Not to mention how dull mining became after 2 weeks - 1 month of gameplay.
Looking at landscapes becomes boring after a while.
I don't know, maybe I just had too high expactions from 1.8, I expected it to change gameplay, change Minecraft as we know it, yet still be the game we loved.
All I want is new art gear for the old canvas called "Minecraft".
Sigh, maybe it's just too early to tell, maybe when 1.8 is released it would be much better.

Definitely going to be one of the best, if not THE best update.

Other than that, awesome news. Can't wait for more sneak peeks.
Sigh, alright.
