I've spent like an hour journeying in all directions and can't find a single cow. Could the requirement of leather stuff be possibly exchanged for something else?
P.S. I absolutely LOVE this challenge so far. Really nice design on it =)
Stone Age complete! Love this challenge, but the amount of smoothstone/stonebricks is INSANE. I've also decided to do the Empire Building Challenge (EBC) once I'm finished the castle. *linky*
Also, pictures:
Materials/Treasure/Bedroom/Spawn Point
Wall w/ two gates
Guard Tower
Keep storage room/2nd floor.
Wheat Farm. Those stick-thingies are IC2 crops growing wheat.
Animal pens. Underground, but there is a roof regardless.
Courtyard, Keep is in bg. No pics of the keep itself tho, as it's just a box.
And finally, the mine. Again, nothing special.
Also, since diamond/gold tools cannot be made, and redstone cannot be used in circuits, I believe that allows for the use of machines such as quarries. Buildcraft, here we come!

Freakin' useful mod (I only use it for SSP!)
I like to play FTB with some additions. Also custom modsets are awesome!
I'm still working on the Gold age, this age has proven to be quite a challenge, especialy considereing I had no cobblestone when I started. To solve this I created a quarry, 15x15 all the way down to bedrock.
I walked away with 7 diamonds, 3 stacks of redstone
2 iron ingots (because I used all of the iron I got to make pickaxes to mine down)
no gold (I used that to make pickaxes when I ran out of iron, what a waste)
2 1/2 stacks of coal
4 1/2 stacks of gravel
a chest of dirt and 3 double chests of cobble stone!
I dont think I'll be running out of cobble any time soon I'm getting close to finishing the Gold age, I'll post more pics when I do
Started this about a month ago but work/life is crazy so just working on it as I can. Been playing Minecraft for a while but got bored then found this challenge and really like having something to focus on. Anyway, wanted to share since I finally finished the wooden age.
Main Keep
Wheat Farm
Outer Fence
Farm
Inside Keep/ Spawn Point in the center is the log
2nd Floor with bed
Requirements
So still have some more decorating to do, but figured stone tools will make that easier so rushed to get this part done. I know i'm going to have issues when I need to expand, when I started it seemed like a big plot of land but now with the keep in there just seems to small a space. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it I guess.

I sincerely hope you looked at the requirements for the next stage - pretty well all of the wood you've used so far needs to be either replaced or added to w/ stone. That'll take a while.

Figured it's a good template, I'll just expand the keep with cobble and stone using the base as reference and then tear down the interior wood walls, the floor will stay wooden, rules don't say anything about the interior just exterior stone. The wall was just trees that I planted and then slowly took off the leaves. In hindsight I probably could have done it more efficiently but too late now . Digging the mine should get me enough cobble to reinforce everything.

Just started this a few days ago, got tired of my city challenge, and another world I was doing, so decided to give this one a go! Spawned right near a village which is nice, but haven't really been over there much yet (except to see if they had carrots - they didn't! Eventually a zombie dropped one and I treated it like it was more precious than diamonds, not I have a heap of them! =P)
Anyways, to screenies!
Just showing my wheat farm, and the outside of my wall =) (you can just see one of the village buildings in the left corner)
My keep, and animal pens (cows one side, pigs the other - I had to travel a day and a night to go find cows, took SO long to bring them back!)
And the item/treasure requirements
Am *so* looking forward to moving on to stone tools!
the wall is hollowed up the top so that I can walk through it and see out, shoot if I must, plus two of the four guard towers
the wizards tower (I will expand on the library within when I get more leather)
the mob spawning area plus grinder
kitchen
the guest bedroom
although it isnt much yet, my bedroom (the master bedrooom)
and the throne room (the throne is made of cobble for now, until i get the gold to make the throne out of gold
the chapel (the symbol is one I just made up, I would have gone with a cross if I had given it an uneven width, but I didnt, so it was either a fat cross, or this)
for the extra building I made a kennel (which is basicaly 4 fenced off dog houses)
(there are three more dogs each with a different name, also this dogs name 'sparticus' is a reference to one of my favorite tv shows, lets see if anyone can tell me which tv show that is)
the royal guarden (I wasnt realy sure what to do with this, hope you like it )
and although this didnt help me advance, I went back to the same NPC village that gave me the carrots and potatoes, I traded with them until a farmer sold me melon XD that makes my farm complete!
Honestly it feels like people are trying to take credit for using creative to build stuff.. There's no way some of these were made on vanilla survival.

I'm not sure who this is directed at, but I will asure you that everything I made was done in 100% vanila survivle, some of it took a very long time to do but I still did it, I havent seen any pictures of castles that look like they have been done in creative, I think you underestimate the skill, effort and pacience of certain players

I don't know whether to feel insulted. I spent 6 months slaving away on my build for the stone age. 6 MONTHS. I had to grind down mountains, cut down a ton of jungle trees, make thousands of charcoal and stone brick. Along the way, I got enough dirt to flatten out the land and had enough left over cobblestone to make a nice and large inner wall. Dirt scaffolding was my best friend.
I'm assuming you meant my build...if not, then disregard my post.
I did the same! Woah, keep it up Xinkc (and choose to take Mining_y7's comment as a compliment )
*edits* Oh yay for dungeons and finding buckets! Will make making stone bricks SO much less painful!
Thanks. Though now that I think about it, Mining_y7 might have been talking about my Iron Age wizards keep if he was talking about me. It might have only taken me about 2 months to create the floating spheroids and the jumping puzzle but they were still done in pure vanilla survival. Though, I did have to go into my test creative world to design the spheroids and the crenallation of my walls so I could not die/fall as much as I did while building most of the jumping puzzle... I still can't believe it took 30-ish deaths and a couple of hundred falls for me to realize that I could have kept the dirt scaffolds that I used to build them up instead of destroying them behind me. Anyways, just designing them in a separate creative world and then manually building them in a different Survival world doesn't count as it being a creative build in my book.
Thanks. I don't know if your avatar is from this challenge but I see that your flag colors are the inverse of mine...
P.S. I absolutely LOVE this challenge so far. Really nice design on it =)

Then I found your post. Good grief. o.O keep up the amazing work!

Im going to have to use a lot of wood for my wall xD
That's an okay size. It's not 207x208 like my Stone Age claimings but it's larger than the 57x57 of my Wooden Age. Kudos!
