We were all noobs once. Tell us your noob story!
Well i was once a noob. I bought minecraft in 1.7.3-Ish. i loaded up a minecraft world and had no idea what to do.
so i went in a cave... i died...twice. I quikly decided that i need wood. I broke 1 tree before night came. i needed a shelter so i ran looi for some sort of shelter. the monsters got me first... Died 6 times!!!!!!!!!!
wasn't till'the next day when i had researched it. I didn't know about creepers though... I thought it looked nice so i ran to it. You get the rest. Post what your noob story was.
First time I played the game was when my brothers friend showed it to him, and when we were trying to play we kept clicking the mouse button instead of holding it down. We were about to quit until we found out we were supposed to hold it down.
I pirated in 1.7.3 :|
I was so paranoid about everything that I spent an entire day reading the wiki before I even ran it--I was deprived of the whole "noob experience" where you don't know anything.
On the bright side, I actually bought it during 1.8 and am now a productive, contributive member or Minecraftian society!

Some serious epicness going on at this site... Be sure to god-like me so I can rate you back!
i started playing around 1.3 beta, and whenever i would go on a server i would ask 10 or so questions that everybody who is on the server knows and usually around the 5th or 6th question people would just start ignoring me. This would only make me type more and ask more questions which just annoyed more people. I have been called a n00b on servers so much. (still sad to say i sometimes do this on occasions) :tongue.gif:
Creeper looked like it was sad and wanted a hug.I hugged it.Me:Why are you making that sound? Game over screen two times.(The first time i thought something else killed me)Another story:First made a world, looked at a dirt block."OMG MOSS!I DIDNT KNOW THAT THEY HAD MOSS!"Another story:Sees zombie.Expects to have gun(Like a zombie game). All true!

Is my lack of a signature bothing you?If you said yes,GOOD!If you said no,FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
In my first cave exploration, I managed to survive long enough to find obsidian. I sat there for a good minute or two trying to mine a block.
And to make things worse, I decided to mine out two blocks. Then a zombie came and kicked me into my lava-filled grave.

I wasn't a noob when starting minecraft, casue I had got into it from watching the Yogscast, and other Minecraft videos. They did all the noobish things for me.
i looked up redstone after i gathered some of the dust and wondered how i was suppose to use it then looked up crafting and found a recipe for a dispenser(which i thought duped stuff lol)and then started putting redstone dust all over yelling y u no work? then i found a recipe for a redstone repeater (which i thought repeated signals really fast lol) then placed it next to the dispenser and got mad that it didn't work. so after a while i found out you could make redstone torches then placed it down thinking to myself this has to be a better light than torches lol then nerd raged and started placing redstone torches all over and accidentally placed it next to the dispenser which launched a item then i was like
Made an enchanting table. Didn't really understand how it worked so I just started enchanting stone tools and sword. Then realized 26 lvls of xp were gone. I got a stone pickaxe that acted like a diamond one so it wasn't a total loss. But yea felt pretty dumb over that.
On my first world, I saw a gravel pit with an arch over it, and thought that arch would make a good spot for a base. "Hey! High ground!" I ended up with creepers outside my main shelter, with no way to dig out an emergency exit, due to having a pit full of creepers beneath my house. I finally made it out when a spider jumped into my little fort, off of a nearby cliff, and killed me, sending me back to spawn, and allowing me to lure the explosive congregation away from anything important.
I learned that high ground wasn't as important as easily-securable ground. My subsequent war with that overlooking mountain is another story entirely. Very poor locational choice.
saved the pic.
i didn't mine down, cause i thought that all recourses were on the same level, took me 3 weeks to get iron... And then there was that time when i was just finishing for my first night, and i saw a wolf. I said to myself "i'll go train im!" and then i punched him. Turns out he wasn't a loner either
