Hey all!
I've been in a survival world and I've started on Friday. I didn't feel like making it so I was about to delete it, but my objective was to make a large house legit, and go to the end. So far, the large house has been made with no creative mode or nothing. I'm playing on the latest snapshot.
Before I made the house, I just made a little cozy birch house and gathered lots of wood to get started. Normally in survival words I wouldn't make these type of houses. I like birch wood alot since it looks so nice and smooth, and I'm planning to build more houses along the bridge. The house is also in an L shape.
Here's what I have so far:
-Small Wheat Farm
-Cow, Pig, and Sheep Pen [not to kill]
-Sugar Cane Farm
-Bridge with railroad to other side
-The large house
-Organized tree farm
Pictures:
Nice view of the side.
Closer view of the house
Side view of the house II
Side view of the house III
First floor of the inside, yet to transfer my chests and furnaces from the open land.
Second floor of the inside, yet to transfer items
Rooftop view of the house.
Please give me some feedback as it took long time to make this. By the way, I've been only playing on this world since Friday.
I would also like ideas for next build, but I don't have any diamonds and I'm looking for some to head to the Nether.
Try changing the floor color. The wall color is very complimentary, but without diverse colors in the house itself, it gets bland. Maybe use oak for floors?
I dislike oak a little, but I'll try. I'll upload an image when I do it. Time to make a new axe..
this is good just i think it's one of those average survival world, because there could be millions of people out there with AWESOME SURVIVALS! but they just can't be stuffed to upload it. And you should put a download link so we can actually play on it!
I'd chime in with the others in a call for more variation in the flooring. Maybe some form of chequering or concentric squares in different woods. Birch is very much a superior plank for modern buildings due to its light coloring, and I like the light that you have. Another suggestion would be to partition your house into rooms, but as you said you have only been building since friday. Which is sort of "Hey, I just progressed beyond dirt hut survival".
Keep up building, and be sure to throw us some screenshots. The number of replies to this thread is a nice measure of your potential.

Well, the house is actually just my survival house, in addition it's an 'L' shape house, which God knows where I put rooms.
In my future builds I'll make a replica like this, but it's a square instead of an L.
Here's the potato and carrot farm:
There was a village about 500 blocks from the house, and I also brought a wolf that I found in a taiga.
Still not grown yet tho :c
I added the carrot and potato farm (fully grown) and that structure you see over there is my automatic potion making machine.
I've made a branch mine also which is ugly and thats how I got my tools. Also have a full level 30 enchanting room, anvil, brewing stands, and a nether portal. Also made a little fishing post for fishing.
And here is my tools with enchantments, I named all three.
Slice N' Dice, Knockback II Sharpness III.
Diggy Diggy Tool, Efficiency IV Unbreaking III.
Silk Touchie, Silk Touch I (obtained by a book I found in a pyramid).

Yeah, since the house is on a lake, I'll make some oak supports.

Actually, I moved everything and my house is already full
