So for once i finally got lucky and got a village at spawn point, but the only problem is,it's miniscule,4 structures,2 identical big houses and a small one,and a well,no farm,it's near a cave,a group of sheep, and a lake though,so i can fish, and theres a villager that trades 1 emerald for 15 wool, and 5 apples for one emerald,so i can live here, but not thrive persay for a while,so should i pack up and head out on my own,or tough it out here, and any tips for making the village better and even more livable, thanks
Post a screenshot! Then we can all go d'awwwww its a widdle widdle viwwage~!
Then go start your own base wherever you like. Villages aren't all that important at all. So you can trade apples for emeralds, big woop-de-doo. I would eat the apples and get busy wheat farming, because you have to kill a lot of zoms to get one potato!
One thing you might do for fun is dig a basement under one of those houses and trap the villager there. As long as there's one villager, I think you'll get a steady stream of zombies.
BTW I had the same choice, but I been looking for my village for a VERY LONG time. And in addition it was also littered by sand.
Doors were covered with sand, somewhere they didn't even exist lol.
So, i decided to stay in that "cracked up"-village and ennobled it.
The result of my work you can see here if you want:
So, i decided to stay,i found a villager that sells enchantments for items, and i have expanded a few buildings, still kinda working on expansion, but the main things i have done is start a farm, and wall off the village, not easy, since a creeper dropped on my head from god knows where,so i'm in a comfortable-ish and stable position, but new question, once i finally find pumpkins,i never spawn near any, should i just walk to the nearby taiga and get snow golems,or take the time to make iron golem/s,taking into account i have a diamond pick now,but no iron, for some reason the cave i found had more diamonds than iron, and how do i make an iron golem farm?
P.S. Since i'm in survival,i can't fly up or get high enough to get a decent screen shot, and i'm lazy,so sorry

I suggest making an iron golem because they have more health and actually damage mobs. As for pumpkins, look in your cave, maybe you'll find a mineshaft with seeds.
Man, I would love to have a village at my spawn point, sometime. I've only had that kind of happen once, and it was more of a found a village in the strike out to find a decent place for my first camp phase. Cute little hilly biome number, very nice. I miss that world, now that I think on it.

Watch me mine for crafts, craft mines, fall down shafts and do a bunch of other things that may or may not involve blocks.
I once found a well in the middle of nowhere... that's a small village.

yes, I am pretty sure you can build houses and the villagers will live in them.
xD
