So, I was wondering, if I wanted to be one mob, what would it be. Then I asked the question, which of the mobs is the most durable.
Firstly, I tested it by making a large room in creative room and spawned 10-20 of every mob in the game.(at the time of 12W08A.){With the exception of Iron Golems and the ender dragon, as they just completely ruined the experiment.) At first, all sheep, chicken and snow golems got taken out straight away by the wolves, ocelots and any mob the golems attacked respectively.
The second test was of water, endermen, snow golems and blaze all took damage when coming into contact with water, whilst all mobs drowned except squid.
The third test was of fire, where all nether mobs were immune to that aswell as lava, whereas the overworld mobs all burned up.
Fourth test being fall damage, I believe chickens, blaze and ghasts are the only mobs who can avoid fall damage when forced upon them.
All other types of damages are equal with all mobs, being melee attacks, projectiles, splash potions and cactus damage, a bit of a grey area is around suffocation damage with slimes and magma cubes and silverfish(who can jump into the blocks.).
*Which mob do you think is the most durable? If you were a mob, which one would you want to be?*
Personally, in terms of survival, I think that Ghasts have the best chance of survival, their only weakness being drowning damage. As to which mob I would 'like' to be, I'd have to choose creeper. Having the ability to explode, receiving hugs on a regular basis, ninja like attributes and being able to scare the sh!t out of people at any moment would be quite hilarious.

If you were to indeed become a mob, durability should only be a small part of your choice. Keep in mind that you'd be using your superior AI (unless you're a complete n00b) instead of the mob's default AI. This simple fact, coupled with the mobs' various abilities and modes of attack, could make for interesting choices...

Unless you're a creeper. Then you're ****ed no matter what way you look at it.
