So what mobs have you encountered? I have encountered every type of mob except Blazes and Magma Cubes. I have never encountered a Slime on single player, however, they were in this deep and huge pit on a server.
Slimes are pretty easy to find. Install a minimap that shows slime chunks, dig down to about level 30 next to the slime chunk, and mine that area. Before you know, slimes'll start spawning like a creeper on a segway!

It's surprising to me that I have found Magma Cubes and Slimes (thousands of them, in fact)
