Slimes only spawn on 1 out of 10 chunks. And chunks are big. See that giant brick pyramid in the video? Thats 1 chunk big. Now take 10 of those and put then right next to each other. And out of those 10 huge pyramids only 1 of them would have slimes spawning in them. So obiousoly that cave is a invalid chunk. Make a cave 10 chunks big and youll get slimes for sure.

A chunk is 16x16 blocks wide. I fear this pyramid covers much more than 1 chunk, friend.
Yeah and that pyramid is that size. So I still pwn you.
So essentially you just said that the chunks are bigger than 16x16 and then said it's 16x16 because you now claim the pyramid to be 16x16, and still you claim to pwn people?
Ok thxbye. The rest of us will keep living in the real world.
Slimes spawn very rarely, even in chunks where they can spawn at all. I have a crappy 10x10 slime farm at bedrock level. So far I've seen two slimes in there, just one time. The other dozens of times I've checked it's been empty. What I'm going to try is expanding the room to provide more spots for them to spawn. I think a tiny room just doesn't cut it, it takes something massive if you want them to spawn reliably.
Bear in mind that slimes also count as hostile mobs which means that they will not spawn at all if the cap for hostile mobs is reached. This also means that any other slime spawning chunks within a 128 block radius are capable of stealing spawns from your farm, reducing its effectiveness.
I would try flooding any natural air pockets below level 16 in any other nearby slime spawning chunks first. The last resort would be to build a mob farm and to light up all caves within the radius to increase mob turnover.
I'm going to agree with Pok3ball and suggest that you light up any nearby caves to keep other hostile mobs from spawning. From my own experience, I've found that slimes only spawn when you aren't looking for them. I've been lucky enough to have my deep-mining bases in slime chunks in two separate worlds, and as I have expanded my mining operations into nearby caves, slimes have spawned with more frequency. So my advice would be to set up a base camp near your slime room and forget that you are looking for slimes. Whenever you come back to base to drop off your treasures, check the slime room. The more you mine AROUND the room, the more slimes you will find. Good luck and be patient.

Help?
I used a slime finder.

May the force be without you.
Oh and don't mind the guy's voice, I'm sure he's heard it all before. He's probably US Marine or something :biggrin.gif:

He MUST have used MCedit for that HUGE slime spawning area.
too old to play, too young to quit

You go girl. :wink.gif:
They probably just aren't spawning because they're so rare. I found a cave with slimes thanks to F3 but they haven't spawned since.
