Really, some people have to copy Notch again? Look on the indie games on Xbox LIVE and see this. Really, why can't all those people play Minecraft and not make some awful copy of it.
I played a trial of it a while back and it's really not that bad but I still couldn't stand it because of my experience with Minecraft, my nephew thinks it's fun though, but, then again, he doesn't have Minecraft.
Anyways, it's not really copying Notch, they took the basic concept of it, changed a few things, added a few things and, in the end, it was similar, saying these people are copying Notch is like saying all FPS games copied off Wolfenstein 3D.
So, my point is, I don't think this deserves a creeper army rage-fest.
Not true (and btw, i think FortressCraft is better than total miner, but thats just my opinion), total miner gives you an option to fill a certain area with a type of block, create a giant flat land in single player, it has 4 player split screen, and an in-game store. There are also earthquakes, grenade launchers, and rope.
i actually change my stance on this.... i know that was fast
but minecraft isnt available yet to people who only own consoles... so whatever
and thinking back to the caliber of people that i always get matched with on XBL
id rather they be playing something other than minecraft
My advice would be not to worry about it. It's not that big of a deal, they're just using the same style of game. For example, first person shooters. Doom was the first, so is every other first person shooter a copy of Doom? Minecraft is under a style of game, not its own genre. So it's not really fair to rip on the Total Miner. (Besides, isn't Minecraft a copy of something..?)
Besides, it looks like crap. People already know it's a ripoff of Minecraft, so they aren't going to buy it, and those who buy it will soon enough find out about Minecraft, and they'll ditch it. Either way, it will fail soon enough. So don't worry about it. :smile.gif:
Im just ****ing tired of flamers who think Minecraft is the ONLY game out there that is allowed to contain blocks and things like that. Notch has taken the genre and turned it into a widely popular concept, but he is not the almighty creator and owner of everything that is like minecraft. And technically, no he could not sue, because the creator of Total Miner has written his OWN code for the game and has not literally copied it from notch, therefore, it is his own game (much like the facebook lawsuits, if any of you know about that).

I agree, I am pretty sure he couldn't sue, but this game looks like a complete rip-off of Minecraft! Even the textures look the same! If it was a first person shooter (lul t3h Xb0x n00bs leik sh00terz) with blocks and crafting, then that would be cool and it would make it unique, but this just looks like the same game, except worse! Although that dual-wielding looks sexy, I have to say.
Hey now, im an xbox n00b and i do NOT like teh shooterz. As for it being a blatant copy, it has plenty of features that minecraft doesnt have, and its just getting started. When minecraft just started out, it was basically Infiniminer, but look where its at now.

I was making fun of the PC Elitists who seem to think that 99.99% of the Xbox users play shooters, usually CoD. Although I don't help out with the stereotype, I have played a few months of playtime in CoD, although I can't stand it now.
I'm starting to think that all these Minecraft lookalikes are really just one big inside joke about modern day FPS games.
Minecraft in this case represents any given modern day FPS.
Lookalikes like this represent any other given modern day FPS.
The core gameplay between the two games center around the exact same concept: Shooting enemies in a mostly static environment with a variety of guns and explosives.
But in the case of FPS games, the argument that one of the two games came first doesn't come up, as it does in debates over MC vs. its lookalikes.

FINALLY, someone who agrees with me on this forum. Good explanation, btw.

whats sad is now when minecraft goes to XBL all the xboxers will think it is a total miner rip :dry.gif:
