Why are people obsessed with creating urinals in MineCraft? I say it's a sort of..... odd obsession.
No obsession, just that if I am creating a complete home, bedroom, kitchen, living room, workbench, library, attic, etc, it makes no sense to leave out a bathroom.
It's still possible for mobs to get past it here (and by swimming), but it does provide some defense. I'll do something about the cobblestone path later. I can't really do anything about mobs swimming across.
It just uses an XOR gate. Look it up on the Wiki if you want to make it but don't know how (The XOR is only required if you want to control it with 2 levers).
I added a murderhole to kill mobs that fell in, and a hatch that leads up from the redstone room to collect items.
Does anyone know if it's possible to make some kind of override switch, so that the hatches on top will close no matter what state the main levers are in? Also, will spiders fall into this trap, or is it not wide enough with the hatches?
Edit: I think I can do the override switch with an AND gate. I'm out of redstone again, though, so I can't do it until I get some more.
I am! Working on the upgrade at my station right now actually. The dispensers' capacity is bumped up by 1 cart over the old doors, the mechanism is 1-block narrower, and they no longer need ladders...awesome!!
do you mind sharing how you made the dispenser? When ever I try and create a PEZ design with it, the doors just stays open, so the carts fall through. And when I tried to reverse the redstone torches, the door opens long enough for two carts to fall in, which isn't what I'd like :ohmy.gif:.

I had that problem too, until I watched this video:
Take a look at the little circuit he has attached to the button. You'll see.
I was under the assumptions that monsters had less of a chance spawning if there was light...
He's probably trying to spawn Passive mobs. I do the same thing, except I dug a pit and put torches in it, so I could farm passive mobs. It's no mob tower, but it's certainly nice.
The only problem is that it's right above the work area in my house, so I hear all sorts of annoying animal noises while I'm crafting stuff.
Well, thus far I have only placed them at the top of my ladders. Which I actually had blocked off as I replaced them with water elevators. Which of course are broken now. So I had to dig back up the old ladders.
On my friends PC I made a trap door behind my bed and when you jump down right when your about to reach the end of the fall you go through water stopped by a sign at the end to break fall damage and in the room you land in I keep my treasure! :biggrin.gif:
So far I've only made a set of shelves, and put a lid on my incinerator.
I like the fire under the hatch, like an old-style grate. ...until they become flammable.
I'm actually curious about the toilet -- I am not satisfied with the ones I've made. They're more like giant thrones.
I meant passive mobs.
And the rumor that passive mobs get attracted by light is real for me.
I haz a SIGNATURE

Oh..... then yeah, that'll work.
Here's that video I mentioned:
Four new anaglyph modes, plus cross-eyed 3D!

Wuh?.. AAH! Uh.. nothing, um, minding my own business, not doing anything with the, uh, trapdoor.

I think he means animals.

Why, thank you.

What to do, what to do...
Hi

Thanks so much for that video. I didn't even think to use repeaters (not sure why :ohmy.gif:)
Now to fix my other two problems; climbing up a 1/1 slope slowly and slowing down but not stopping a minecart.

Still experimenting with them for other uses.
That's adorable.
