Nearly all of us Minecraft players are aware of the Void, a black hole which is below bedrock at the very bottom of the Overworld. However, you may ask yourself, "Why is the Void even here? What would happen if Notch or Jeb removed it?" Unless, if course, it's space.
What could lie beyond the Void? Was it added as a trap to keep you away from great riches? Or was it always meant to be space, just naturally there?
We may never know what lies beyond the Void...

I'm still using Windows 7.
I said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Heh, just a random idea, but maybe Minecraft follows the hollow earth theory and when you break through the bedrock you are actually falling through the center of the earth and eventually if you didn't get pulled back towards the center of the earth you would actually reach the other side of the planet.
Obviously this isn't true because Minecraft is flat though...

I'm going to mash signature stuff together: I tested 100% positive for MC addiction, I'm a black knight, support crappy trees, my color is red, and microsoft destroys to a cactus.
I think if they removed it maybe it's just infinite bedrock, or lava, or the end, or the nether. Maybe its a world that's the opposite of the overworld? Maybe there's Steve there, but does the opposite of what you do. You walk to the right, he walks to the left, you build a mansion, he builds a small shack. And maybe there is no food or anything but the whole world is made of endstone and nether bricks.
Bizzaro minecraft world. Where everything is made of circles, your guy's name is Beatrice, you hit tools with blocks, monsters give you hugs, pistons smelt dirt, the hunger bar is a text read out, redstone is green, and the creeper is a really cool dude.

No, that random idea was actually pretty good.
