Most of the time, it's when I visit a bad server that has stupid admins that don't realize bunny hopping is legit (sprinting and jumping simultaneously), or the "mods" on said server yell in all caps, swear, and do other things against the rules set up by that individual server and I try and gently tell them they're breaking their own rules themselves.
I've been banned for being a "sarcastic asshole" many, many times for that reason.
The only other time I got banned was for killing someone on a hardcore survival server.

Once, I did nothing wrong and was used as a scapegoat for someone hacking the server. I thought I was trusted and an acknowledged nice guy but apparently not, the backstabbers didnt even reply to the unban requests.
I got banned for jumping out a window an admin broke and they didn't reply to the unban request ether.
I was once banned from a server. The admin told everyone to log out for some reason. So I did. A minute later I got back on and they had loaded a different map. There were two others on, the admin and another person. I started walking toward them in the building they were in, and when they saw me I was banned. Will probably never understand why.

*sips tea* Oh, silly servers.
Wait, really? I play multiplayer on a private server with friends, do public servers really see problems with jumping and sprinting? What problem could that possibly pose to anyone?
I once got banned right when I joined a server. The reason for it is pretty pathetic. There were three griefers griefing the admin's house, and I was standing near them watching them. There were at least 20 people on the server. And guess who they banned? They banned me. After a short argument on how I wasn't the griefer and that I was just watching, they banned me. After a few days of arguing with them (i actually kind of knew the admin, but he's an asshole and will ban even people who he knows), he unbanned me.
I logged on and told them who the actual griefers were and to look through the BigBrother log, and then they banned me again for accusing people who "had nothing to do with it". I knew the admin better than the griefers too.
I once was banned for bunny-hopping too. They wouldn't listen. :[
That's really depressing. Do people not know how to sprint and jump simultaneously? (press forward twice and hold jump)
I run a server for my friends at school. Only they can go on it. That way, I can yell at them if they do something bad, and they can yell at me if I do something bad in person.
I got banned from a survival server once because the admin asked if I was "green." Since my player skin is mostly green colors, I replied yes. He then started swearing at me and banned me. Wut.
Turns out there was a guy with a hacked client who kept logging in under different names, although he went by the name "Green-something" (I don't remember exactly). I suppose I got confused with him. Whoops.

Don't ban me for run-on sentences.
Respond regardless.

This. 100% this. When I sprint and jump on ice while under blocks and the admins are morons, I'm pretty much bound to get banned.
He got banned for spamming, which he had no idea about.
They said it was a threat....
???
