They can say that, but then they would be wrong. They've done the wrong thing with Minecraft before, and I'm sure they will do things I don't like in the future.
Now, I'm not sure what you mean by "no faults". I don't think I've left any glaring holes. If you're saying there are downsides, I agree with you. I just think the downsides are outweighed by the upsides, and the downsides can also be seen as interesting challenges.
It is completely pointless, adds nothing to the game but unneeded tedium, makes no sense whatsoever, and completely goes against all previous design precedents. It is overall a horrible suggestion, easily one of the worst I have ever seen here, and that says a lot.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
Besides the fact that it has no use in singleplayer and it is too hard to gather to be worth using in multiplayer?
Hmm, well I admit I haven't been emphasizing single player much, but how about a nice creeper-proof piston door?
Also, it's not a fact that it's too hard to gather. I could just as easily say it's a fact that it's a cinch to gather. Some people would certainly use pistonium in some way. Now whether that's a very small minority of players, I don't know, but even if it is, that's okay, because it's not that obtrusive onto the people who don't want it.

okay, pistonium has faults, but the things you listed? Those aren't true of pistonium.

Actually, they are all true of it. Every single last one. Please explain to me why they aren't.

It is not like creepers walk up to your door and blow up. So what use would a creeper proof door have?
It will be intrusive a LOT more then it will be useful.
1. Does this block look good and is it visually pleasing to the majority of players?
2. Does this block have a purpose that the majority of players would find useful?
3. Is this block easily abusable by determined players?
If you answered Yes, Yes, No, then your idea is good. If not...

I do answer Yes, Yes, No. But those questions are flawed. A new block doesn't have to be liked by the majority of players. A new block simply has to be liked by some players. And for the players who dislike it, it has to be easily avoidable. Done.

The point of pistonium is to have a block that you can push with pistons, while it isn't susceptible to explosions, and isn't mineable. You can build things out of it. That's a point, and a very good one.
adds nothing to the game but unneeded tedium,
It adds a whole new aspect to the game, a whole new way to play with blocks and deal with blocks. And even if some of its uses are tedious, it's not unnecessary tedium. Sometimes a bit of hard work in the game is a good thing. Pistonium gets you thinking in a different way because it's hard to work with. It brings out creativity in players. Clearly a valuable addition to the game.
makes no sense whatsoever,
It makes enough sense for Minecraft. It's a block that adheres so strongly to itself that it cannot be broken apart, though it's not so heavy that it can't be moved with some mechanical effort.
If it helps, you could imagine pistonium as "magic", but I don't think that's necessary either.
and completely goes against all previous design precedents.
It doesn't go "completely against all previous design precedents". I really wish you would not exaggerate. It goes against a couple of previous design precedents. Also, this is not a flaw. Sometimes you have to step outside the bounds of what's been done before.
It is not like creepers walk up to your door and blow up. So what use would a creeper proof door have?
I'm starting to think you've never played Minecraft... "creepers don't walk up to your door and blow up"? I don't think we're playing the same game here.
It will be intrusive a LOT more then it will be useful.
It also adds no challenge whatsoever.
I don't see how you can say "it would be intrusive" and then immediately say "it adds no challenge". It can't be both of those things.
Here's the truth about pistonium: it's a little bit intrusive, and it's a bit of a challenge. If you set yourself lofty goals for pistonium, it can be a big challenge, but only if you choose this.

This is honestly not a bad idea. While your "demonstration" texture is a bit unsightly and really not something I'd like to build out of, the idea is good. However, I request one change:
When Pistonium is broken via being pushed with a piston, it drops a single block of something along the lines of "Broken Pistonium". This looks exactly the same as regular Pistonium, but it can be broken by hand at the same rate as, say, stone brick. This would eliminate the problem of people being able to super-troll with it.

Bedrock walls surrounding every chunk that go to height limit would be intrusive and not add any challenge.
You still do not know the difference between challenging and annoying...

Other than that, I support.
That's actually a decent tweak. I like it because I like giving access to aesthetic blocks that look kind of like functional blocks. Although I would make the texture somewhat different, in order to give a visual cue. And I like that you've solved my super-troll issue.
Please, do find me ONE example of a creeper blowing up someones front door that was not the players fault in some way.
Heynow! Have a little mercy. Just because the player was a little careless, doesn't mean he or she deserved to have his or her door blown up!
Bedrock walls surrounding every chunk that go to height limit would be intrusive and not add any challenge.
I stand happily corrected! Apparently it is possible for a thing to be both intrusive and non-challenging. I think we can all feel quite fortunate that this is not the case with pistonium.
You still do not know the difference between challenging and annoying...
You could try explaining it a little better. Where do you draw the line?

If a creeper blows up your door making the door blast proof is one of the worst ways of solving the problem.

Challenge usually means you can beat something, all you can do with this block is move it. This does not solve the problem or beat the challenge. The block will still be there to annoy you at a later time.
Doors that cannot be blown up are the only effective use for this and is this the worst possible way to implement a door that cannot be blown up, due to the tedious nature of gathering this stuff and how annoying the block is in general.
