The idea isn't bad, and you are right about pigs aren't special anymore. We do need potion of hunger, but most mobs aren't affected by hunger, so making a splash potion kind would be useless. Support!
Even though I supported and gave good feedback, you didn't put me in the list of supporters. Why is that?
Yes, so when you're mining, you don't have to carry a lot of food, bring a crafting table, or risk getting poisoned.
First of all, I don't know who doesn't carry a crafting table when mining. You would need it to repair, create, and support tools. Again, we have plenty of food in Minecraft, thus making this potion unnecessary. When you do happen to mine in a controlled area, you can just go to the surface and slaughter some animals from the wild or your farm.
No, the carrot wouldn't be obsolete. The golden carrot is still used for making potions of night vision and invisibility.
Please reread what I said. What would be the point of the golden carrot as an edible item if this golden porkchop will most likely surpass the saturation points it offers?
Well, like I said, not all PvP maps turn off hunger. Some PvP maps use hunger.
That proves my point even more. If they'd use hunger, then they would just set food as an available option. As you said, this basically turns off hunger so why not just use the saturation effect in a clock?
Well, gold isn't nearly as rare as diamonds or emerald ore. I've found a fair share of gold in my days. I'll consider this, though. I'm glad that you like the Potion of Hunger, though!
It's still pretty rare. If you'd watch the MindCracker's UHC, you would see what I mean.
I don't think I support this... the solution to pigs obsolescence should not be to simply take an already existing feature and make it more powerful.
Plus, I don't feel like we need any more gold-plated foods.

I personally feel like I've come up with a better use for pigs here: http://www.minecraft...island-seekers/
But that's just my two cents.
Sorry, I don't support.
You are right. Pigs themselves shouldn't be useful because of the items they drop. What's special about that?
Too bad we're talking about the golden porkchop suggestion. You can stop trying to redirect people to your thread.
oT; Golden Porkchop is a waste of golden ingots. I would prefer getting a regular farm with pigs, cows and chickens than having a 3 pigs farm and a zombie pigman farm just to get a single piece of food that I might not even eat.

Isn't there a rule that states you can't advertise your own suggestion on two different ideas?
What do you mean? Why couldn't it be done? I've gotten a lot of gold nuggets from zombie pigmen.
I didn't say it couldn't be done. I said it isn't viable. It isn't practical. It's not a way to sustain large amounts of gold. Without setting up a farm, you have to realize pigmen drop 0-1 nuggets before you factor in a looting sword. You need 9 nuggets per ingots times 8. 72 nuggets to make just 1 porkchop. Pigmen farms are the worst farms to make as well. You have to either destroy a large area in the nether or explore until you find a lava lake big enough to support one. Not worth it for a food that doesn't really do much more than regular food.
I really like it. What if there was a level system for gold pork.
Hear me out.
The least expensive ingredient is 8 gold nuggets and a cooked pork.
That is a level 1 pork. It heals the least.
For each ingot increase the level by 1.
If you use blocks you gain a heart + increase the level by 3.
Full support. I think we need a use for gold and this should be it. Tweeting to Jeb.
That is not a viable option.
Thank you for the support!

So pigs are not a viable option either.

Then eat that pork. It's also basically an easier way to obtain a 'regen' potion, as well as a 'speed' potion (sprinting), thus making it overpowered.

Because Everyone Needs A 14 Inch Tablet
Did I not? Sorry about that! I'll fix this.
Thanks for your support, but are you saying there should be a potion of blindness instead of a potion of hunger?

I agree that pigs need another use, but I don't think this is the way to do it.

Just build the darn thing already!
I support.
An alternate timeline emerges.
However, we must first start from the beginning...
