As you might have read from the topic title, you can obviously tell what it is going to be about: purchasing capes from Mojang/Minecraft.
I honestly thought that even though capes have to be sold as tickets for Minecon, of which I cannot go to until I'm 18. I honestly thought that it was unfair that XBOX users that play Minecraft can buy the Minecon 2012 and 2011 capes, along with custom ones if they modify the game of which all players can see. In result this does give Mojang profit from the sale of which is only 2 dollars per user versus 100 to 200 dollars for a Minecon ticket just to get a cape on PC. It seems unfair to the millions that play Minecraft on PC versus XBOX.
I also know that people will say that a cape is a novelty item in Minecraft to show who is the "elite among the flock", but allowing players on XBOX to do it show that it is a retail item to all.
In my opinion, I think Mojang should make Minecraft capes available to eveyone at a purchase price; about half the price of a Minecon ticket at the least or most. This would provide Mojang a lot of profit depending on if users want to buy it in the masses. This, in turn, would let Mojang be able to generate enough money to make their games better and be able to apply more employees to make the games better at a faster rate.
One way or another, this can lead to a win, win situation; players of Minecraft can get a cape at a certain cost, and Mojang gets profit and make Minecraft better at a faster rate since they probably would be able to employ more people to help improve the games.
Ok I'm done fuming now. Post about what you want to say; whether, my opinion is a load of crap or a good idea. XBOX Capes vs. PC Capes.
-I really hate using cape mods that technically do nothing but ley YOU and YOU oly see the cape. >
I've seen many of capes suggestions. This is one that actually make sense but I don't really support. I believe capes should still be for people who go to minecon or support Optifine. But you get half-support from me.
Sooner or later Minecraft buyers alone won't be able to support the development of Minecraft. Minecraft Worlds may just be the solution. But that looks a fair way off, and it might not be enough to completely replace income from buyers. Optional microtransactions for aesthetic items like capes may just ease the burden a bit.
So long as these microtransatctions are limited to aesthetic items, I support.

Oh gee, could this be another thread where someone wants a cape really bad, then makes a suggestion that involves the OP getting one? Is that the case?

Yup. That's the case.

I don't think we buy Minecon capes, unless someone goes to Minecon, then they are.
