: Hey there, Minecraftia!
Have you ever wondered how the game would be like, with mud that could be smelted into mud bricks,
which in turn could provide an alternative to bricks?
: Uh...
--- >O^... ---
: I thought so! Well, I thought about it, and created this post!
----------MY IDEA----------
The idea is to have mud being created on dirt blocks during rain. After the rain ends, though, it will dry up after 1200 game ticks, or 2 minutes (sorry if I got the game ticks duration wrong, 10 ticks = 1 sec, RIGHT???)
It can have the property of topsnow, where it does not elevate you, and can be harvested by a shovel for mud. Then, you can smelt it into Mud Brick, which can be used like Brick to make Mud Bricks (block).
Mud could also spawn on Dirt if it was next to water, but it is very rare.
You could also craft Mud using a shapeless recipe, using and x4.
Oh, and Mud Bricks (block) can be harvested with a wooden/gold++ shovel.
Oh I know, you should also be able to throw Mud like you would throw Snowballs
And there should be an easter egg where when a Pig spawns on mud, there is a 10%chance where it will use a new skin where it is a Pig which is bathed in mud.
I half-like the idea, except that it seems like you're getting building materials for almost nothing. You just wait for rain and then harvest mud to make bricks.
I think a fairer system would be to temporarily turn the whole dirt block into a mud block and only if you walk over the dirt block two or three times while rain is falling, within a certain time frame (say, 5 seconds). This makes mud a little more difficult to obtain, on a par with having to go find clay and dig it out.
Or you could do away with the whole "mud" mechanic by simply having the dirt blocks change to clay blocks when walked on (the above conditions would still apply of course).
1, I haven't supported, I simply said you need to add more detail.
2, We are actually making it better. The original idea was too plain. Dull, dull is the word I'm looking for.

Please support (or not, up to you)!
And maybe Mud Brick can be used for connecting Flower Pots so you can have connecting ones and ones that can be placed together.
(See my old idea on connected pots)

I can get behind this idea. We have snow after all, may as well have mud.
You need more detail.
I like this suggestion.
