Let's say you liked a certain biome a lot, such as desert, but could never find them? Single Biome is here to save the day!
How this works is that there would be three options for world generation: Default, Superflat, Large Biomes, and Single Biome. When you set it to Single Biome, it will make an option called Biomes appear, much like presets for Superflat. When you select it, there will be a list of all the biomes in the game. You select one, go out, and the world will only generate that biome.
This would be a good feature for survival islands, so that there is just an infinite ocean. This could also be used if you want to see what it would look like if there was only one biome the whole way.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
EDIT: There will also be an option to toggle various features, such as rivers, ravines, etc.
As a side note, you are also able to select more than one biome, so you only have, say, Oceans and Forests, or everything except Oceans. When you choose more than one, you can change which ones are more common, etc.
I don't like the idea... I LOVE the idea! It would be so useful for a mod I was making that improved the generation of biomes! I spent hours trying to find a mushroom biome!
But there is a biome called "beach" and I really think that minecraft would probably crash trying to make beaches all over the world. Why? because beaches have to be near water and most water IS NOT classed as a beach. So what I am trying to say is that beaches will probably be pretty impossible to generate.

Let the stalks of giant mushroom be like "mushroom-wood logs" which can then be made into sticks and planks or just function as normal logs. Maybe they could be a grey-ish white color.
I think it should be done with all the related biomes included: for instance choosing jungle would give you jungle and jungle hills, choosing mushroom island would give you mushroom islands and mushroom island shores, etc.

Maybe a toggle to allow rivers too, there's nothing I like more than a good jungle with a nice river cutting through it.
I would prefer an option to choose which biomes will be created, because it would be much less limiting. For example, you could have both Taiga and Tundra biomes for a more varying winter world, turn off just oceans but have all other biomes, have an option to turn off the spawning of certain structures, etc. Your choices would be less limited and it would probably be just as easy to implement.
They also wouldn't have to add a whole new type of world, as this would already be compatible with large biomes and default.

You can already do that with superflat presets, but I like the idea.

This actually sounds pretty good.
You could also use it to single out the biomes you dont want.
say you dont like extreme hill zones? Play the game with everything except extreme hill zones enabled.

Exactly. They could even make it more specific, allowing you to change the chances that something will spawn. For example, you could make villages more common, deserts less common, or whatever you want. They would probably have to limit it though, just so you don't break the wrold by spawning in unlimited dungeons.

Pointing out fallacies to undermine an argument is also a fallacy...

Reasonable. Renaming...
Yeah, but you couldn't get any wood...

Problem solved.
It was your decision when you decided to make an all Mushroom world.

Added to the main post.
So 1/2 support. Because i know some people who'd love this.
Not to be rude, but just because you wouldn't need it doesn't mean we wouldn't need it.
