Can somebody give an actual reason for why Mojang is not adding a way to get Cobwebs in the game? I have two solutions to this problem that could fix it with less than a minute of prgramming.
Have Silk Touch objects pic Cobwebs up.
Add a creafting recipe. Here is what I think it should be.
I really want to use Cobwebs in my vanilla world Mojang, please add them.

I dont think so, Cobwebs are made by spiders, not by hand. Can you make cobwebs on ur own in real life? No, yes I realize that alot of stuff u can make in real life in Minecraft but Cobwebs just dont make sense...
Nice. I would like cobwebs craftable, but I don't see an actual purpose for them....

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
I usually use them for like, patience trials, as in, making a LONG tunnel in multiplayer, and stuffing them with (illegitimate, of course) cobwebs. If the person is dedicated enough in wanting to play on it, they would make it through that tunnel. Otherwise not many uses for it...
Yeah, me too. Minecraft isn't completely realistic of course, but I see no reason to make it even less realistic. Silk touch cobweb mining makes enough sense (at least as far as in game logic goes).
Why can't we craft cobweb?
Because the character's name is Steve, not Peter Parker.
And even if a lot of recipes don't make any sense (take a log of good, 4 stones, an iron ingot, and some red dust, and... voila! you have a piece of machinery! xD) they still make more sense than being able to craft a cobweb. At least they are possible. Extremely rare, and difficult to make, but possible. But I don't even see how anybody could be able to craft a cobweb. It is like in those mods where you can craft with you bare hands a working computer in a single block, using the most basic materials... it doesn't make any sense!
That being said, I would like to have some way to get the cobwebs that spiders have created, somehow. An enchantment, or a special tool, or whatever, but... minecraft is a building game, and if we can't use a block to build with it... what is the point of having it in the game?
Every time I need a cobweb (to create a redstone timer, or to build the smoke of a fireplace...) I have to use nei to give me some, and even if I drop the materials that I think would be used in the creation, that still feel bad for me.
I agree. I don't really care how you get them. I would like them to add a crafting recipe, but not a big deal if they don't. Silk Touch would be fine also. I just want a way to use Cobwebs in survival vanilla.
Did I help? Click that green button!
We want it for vanilla.. Not cheats.
I understand the whole "realism thing" but...we can't exactly bust trees down with our bare fist either..
And maybe not a craft-able cob-web... But it would be nice if we could mine them up.
Thanks,
Marv
Decoration, traps, etc.
I am ninja'd far too often.
I mean picking them up via silk touch would make sense but..
makes great smoke for chimneys
Because it makes sense to put a poisonous mushroom and a random brown mushroom into a bowl and get stew.
The whole "it's illogical" argument doesn't really apply in this situation.

Still seems kinda risky for some Dinty Moore..
Ok, lets have another one...
It doesn't make much sense to smash three bundles of raw wheat together and get a ready-to-eat loaf of bread.
