I've found a few things that really need to be nerfed, and add anything you think should be as well.
1: Cocoa bean growth. I have a small farm that yeilds about 2 stacks per harvest (after replanting), but the cocoa beans grow so damn quickly i can harvest it every 5-10 minutes. After day one I had over a chest full of cocoa beans!
2: Sideways logs. Placing logs is now difficult. There is no way to place a normal log while standing next to it. I have to pillar up two blocks and place it, or jump and place it under me. In most of my buildings, I don't have enough room to do this! Make them place like stairs.
3: Enchanting levels. At the moment, its super easy to get a high level enchantment. I can enchant a new item at max level every 5 minutes or even less. Enchanting should feel like a reward rather than feeling like another mundane chore.
That's all I got, if you disagree with me please say why. Feel free to add your own suggestions as well
1: May be a valid point, though personally I would rather have more options of what I could do with my mass quantities of cocoa rather than just limit the output.
2: That would just replace placing extra blocks to look down from with placing extra blocks to use as backing for sideways orientation.
3: I for one love the fact that we're getting tons of EXP now; now I don't have to wast time grindleveling whenever I want to enchant something that will inevitably break.
If anything, they should nerf mob grinders, not the enchanting themselves.
My idea wasn't necessarily to nerf enchantments, just make the level 50 again. They added all these new XP sources, lowered the curve it takes to get to the new level, and then almost cut the max level in half. I just feel like it was too much of a step in the "easy" direction.
1. I agree that the growth speed of cocoa beans should be at least the speed that wheat grows.
2. NO. Even though it's quite a hassle if you want to place it normally, I assure you; you WILL get used to it.
People complained all the time that upside down slabs and stairs were too hard to place, but they got used to it.
3. I like the way it is now. I used to spend an hour getting to level 50, only to get Efficiency III or Knockback II.
1.Yes, we need that.
2.I support.
3. No way in hell am I supporting that. I used to ALWAYS get smite or bane of arthopods. Now I get sharpness 3 and fire aspect. That contradicts my signature.

1: Cocoa bean growth. Cookies restore too little health to be efficient, brown wool isn't very useful unless you're making a decoration, and they can only be grown on jungle wood. These balance the rapid growth, but let's talk about the main balancer: The lack of saturation from cookies is accounted for by the rapid growth, as in you can make more of them than you can bread in the same period of time. As a result, it is a balanced way of obtaining food. The amount of cocoa beans you get means nothing. In the same way, the amount of cobblestone I get while mining means nothing, not unless I use it to create something or smelt it, so the number of cocoa beans (which is defined by the size of your farm anyway) means nothing unless you make cookies or something out of it. If you have too much, stop farming them, or destroy them. Don't blame your failure to do anything with your items on the farming system.
2: Sideways logs. Boo-hoo, you have to spend a few extra seconds to jump on top of your building to place logs the way you want. I'm sorry, but no. It does not take so much of your precious time that it needs to be changed. And, unlike you apparently, I build my structures bottom to top, you know, like logic intends us to do. So, no. I doubt you're magically unable to place logs, in no logical scenario will you be forced to make a structure in that way. As for working like stairs, you're mistaken anyway. That's how they already work: stairs work depending on what surface you face, the same is for logs now.
3: Enchanting levels. Enchanting is random, this is the main balancer. Some smaller balancers are that you still require diamonds and obsidian for the table, and to reach the max enchantment level you need bookshelves completely surrounding the table.
All of what you mentioned is balanced, and does not need to be nerfed.
All of what you mentioned is balanced, and does not need to be nerfed.
1: I'll take that, I agree with you.
2: I build my structures bottom to top as well, but everybody adds details later. It is a hassle having to break the smooth stone above me and then have to run and smelt more cobble just because the logs don't place correctly. That's not what I meant by 'working like stairs'. I know they place directionally. However, if you place it on the bottom half of a block, it's regular. If you place it on the top half, it's upside down. The same thing can apply to logs, the bottom half would be upright, the top half would be sideways.
3:You would have to use the diamonds regardless of whether you enchanted or not, which makes the only true balancer the use of obsidian in the enchanting table recipe, which takes 45 seconds to get. The randomness is a balancer, but it only takes 5- minutes to enchant something at max level so after a half hour you can most likely get any chant you were looking for.
Also, no need to be rude just because I don't like the way logs are placed.

You don't absolutely need diamonds for anything except obsidian. You can actually live with iron, and no diamonds. And, no, it does not take a half an hour to get what you want; I once tried getting a helmet with respiration and aqua affinity, but it never came out with those two by themselves. This was in creative mode, using a gold helmet (the highest enchantability), and full level every time. Trust me, the randomness balances out any overpowered stuff the enchantments throw in; you can't somehow get Protection 5 on a diamond armor set and get Fire Aspect and Smite on every diamond sword you throw in there, getting them requires work. It's especially annoying if you get the wrong enchantment, such as getting silk touch on a diamond pickaxe when you don't want silk touch, as then you either have to live with it or throw it out. Enchantments are not a random detail Mojang threw in without balances of any kind.

Agreed. Remember the adventure update, when Mojang set out to make exploration worthwhile? Cocoa farms made that less so.

Needs more testing. I haven't had any problems with logs yet. I can see it getting really annoying in Creative mode, so maybe there should be a sideways log that appears in creative only. For Survival though, I think the logs should stay the way they are.
3: Enchanting levels. At the moment, its super easy to get a high level enchantment. I can enchant a new item at max level every 5 minutes or even less. Enchanting should feel like a reward rather than feeling like another mundane chore.
I'm pretty good at Minecraft, and I haven't got great enchantments yet, with some days of playing. Are you playing an existing world? Because all your bookshelves just became harder to build. Are you using an XP farm? XP farms aren't supposed to be standard gameplay experience, so if you're using an XP farm, you're kind of cheating. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, but if you're complaining that enchanting is overpowered, that's why. I don't think you should be able to get the best enchantments every 5 minutes if you're playing legitimately.

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.

Considering that it's mostly based on luck, I think it could be argued either way depending on the individual's experience with enchantments. Looking at the other replies, though, I realize that there are people who do not use mob spawners and mob farms as heavily as I do, and breaking the enchantment system would be unfair to those people.
I don't have a proposed solution, but perhaps they could somehow make mob spawners a bit less attractive of an option and make normal gameplay look better? I don't know, just a thought.
1. Cocoa beans in the past were so rare it's a definite shock to have so many, but why not make them so abundant? Cookies don't heal very much hunger.
2. I agree with the log problem, perhaps a tool could be added that allows you to rotate the blocks? (like the screwdriver in Tekkit)
3. I personally enjoy easier experience. Now enchanting is easier to use instead of needing to hunt mobs/build a spawner. The next step to take enchanting one step further is to add more enchantment effects. (like the multitude of mods out there)

Having a Farm is optional, and the frequency you harvest is also optional. So easy solution is to not ****ing have one or to just not ****ing use it so much. Don't ***** that's it's "too easy" for **** sake you must like it to keep on hitting the harvest button.

If you can Enchant every 5 mins you have an enderman xp farm. Solution: DON'T MAKE/USE IT IF IT BOTHERS YOU! Everything is optional in life, and should remain that way. Also you can easily remove the problem by removing bookshelves. Once again it's optional, it's like having TooManyItems installed and using it in your "legit" world, then turning around and saying it should be nerfed.

Defiantly.
It is pretty easy to get 30. Needs to be a bit harder but nothing like 1.2 because that was to much.
