Yo if they implement gold golems in pyramids what should protect the jungle temples A tribe of Npcs that would have spears and poison darts but the spear does 2 damage and darts do poison damage for five seconds?
I wasn't going to read this due to the subject matter pertaining to Golems. However, upon doing so, that soon changed into full support for the concept...and I'd love nothing more than to see this incorporated. My only gripe is the appearance...as I'd prefer a much more Egyptian style and feel it has a currently Spartan feel with that head crest. However, that's a very small gripe for an excellent concept.
This is quite good. I always wanted Pyramids to have more challenge.
Not to hijack your post or anything, but I have my own ideas to contribute to the Gold Golem. Also, why not call it the Guardian Golem? Since that is its purpose...
-First, why have it shaped like a regular Iron Golem? It is special, isn't it?
I give you a front on assembled view of the Gold/Guardian Golem and the skin I made for it. Note, I am happy for people to make improvements to my work.
Assembled Front View:
Skin: (Note, it may need re configuring to fit a model)
Behavior additions/summaries:
It shall lie dormant in the Pyramid until a player gets within 10 blocks of it's line of sight, then it will wake up and attack the player. Once awake, it's awareness of the player will extend 32 blocks in a spherical shape. If the player manages to escape, the Gold/Guardian Golem will give up the chase and go back to its spawn point, healing any damage done to it..
It moves slowly, but when it gets close (5 blocks maybe), it might decide to sprint toward the player, dealing 5 hearts and knockback if the player couldn't dodge it. This sprint can only be stopped by a wall.
It will also awake if any chests within a 20 block radius are interacted with (no sneaking past!).
Its primary attack is swinging its fist at the player, which deals 4 hearts and knockback. It may alternate between left and right fists.
Its last attack is will cause it to stop, lift its arms up, and start spinning its upper torso (and everything attached to it) rapidly, and start chasing you for 6 seconds. If hit by this, the player will take a whopping 7.5 hearts of damage and be thrown across the room.
Details:
-Has 85 hearts.
-Drops 18-32 Gold Ingots, 9-18 Lapis, and enough EXP to get you to level 15.
-Eyes are dark when inactive. When activated, they glow in the dark.
-Immune to knockback.
-Immune to fire and lava.
I apologize if any of this offended you. Please, will tell me if you think these reconfiguration and additions make it better or worse?
I really love this idea, and as soon as I saw the Pyramids, I thought they had much, much more potential.

Actually.... allot of those are really great! The body is quite nice i really like the bulky hands and feey, yet i think the head on the current one is good. maybe a hybrid mix between the two models?
18-32 and 9-18 may be a bit extensive more like 5-10 and 3-6i Think.
Yes to glowing eyes.
85 May not be too bad.
yes to fire/lava proofing
and i don't see the point of making it knockback proof, you can knockback the Enderdragon a bit why not a Golem?
No offence taken my friend. anything to help the cause ^.^
Nice Idea! I Love This Idea. If This Gets Put Into The Game Im Going To Be So Happy! The Mobs In Minecraft Are Easy To Kill But The Gold Golem Wont Be Easy To Kill It Will Be Hard To Kill!

No, I thought if it was not easy to kill, it would be easy to kill.

I was surprised to see how much I like this idea. Having a hard boss to make pyramids harder is a AWESOME idea, if you know what the trap is in pyramids, it will probably be easy to beat. Maybe something for Jungle Temples? If you can come up with this, you can come up with other things
they shouldnt de-spawn like iron and snow golems, so they would be there until killed. also, for the spawn command mentioned above, they shouldnt wander more then, lets say, 20 blocks?

That's Your Way Past Them. Golems Drop Keys And You Use The Keys To Get Into The Treasure Room.
But what stops players from breaking down the door/wall?

Lava trap? Another gold golem? jk. But maybe a lava trap.

HAHAHA! I'd LOVE to see that! yet it wouldn't make sense for the machines to fight, such as they both work to protect stuff rather then do battle
