Supported, ender pearls and a number of other items should work in creative, I for one HATE working on my server and having to swap back and forth between modes just to place certain items !!!
I think i know why they don't teleport you - I think it's because Creative Mode automatically blocks any scripts that will cause damage to the Player - like Creeper automatic aggro and such. But I do agree with you that they should work.

Excuse me, but that was my comment you just read there, bub.

What about Lava? You can go swimming in that in creative and take no damage, and that does not seem to be an issue. Why not Enderpearls? If there is a bug right now, it could easily be fixed.

Yes, the fact that you can swim in Lava is not in itself a damaging script. The thing that Creative doesn't do with Lava is set the Player on fire, as it does with other things. Understand?

Don't you take damage when you fall out of the world in creative?

Nope; Creative makes you invulnerable to damage, except for the /kill command and the Void; you CAN throw an Ender Pearl in Survival and switch to Creative before it lands and it will teleport you, but you won't take damage. Also, some hostile mobs still try to attack you if you hit them because they use a different AI than other mobs (e.g. Endermen, which don't aggro if you look at them but will if you hit them) and they forgot to program it to switch off in Creative. Invulerability is set by a true/false tag for the Player entity, as see in in the Player.dat file.
Also, the void actually does kill you in Creative in the same manner as in Survival; I just tested it by running until my hunger fell below the healing level (on at least Easy), then went to Creative and flew into the void until I started getting hurt, then went back up and switched back to Survival - I had 4 hearts left after taking 3 hits (2 hearts per hit for 6 total, just as the Wiki says about void damage), proof that you can take damage in Creative.
Most likely, they disabled Ender Pearls either because of people spamming them and causing lag (as suggested, although you can't throw them THAT far) or they thought they were unnecessary. However, they certainly can be useful because you can move much faster over short distances, so I don't see why they can't be enabled in Creative, maybe add a delay (only in Creative) to avoid using them too quickly if that's a problem.
Yes, teleporting with enderpearls would be a much easier way to get around in creative. As suggested, maybe you could add a two or three second delay to prevent the game from lagging.
"Shall I craft you a ladder to help you off that high horse now?"

No... Technically dying doesn't count as taking damage.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
