One golem can create infinite snow and you could make an automatic harvesting pumpkin farm as large as your heart desires. It really doesn't make sense to breed snow golems...
We can force them to breed by threatening them with our diamond weapon technology, and unleash the might of the creeper horde upon them if they fail to meet set quotas.
That gives them a reason to breed.
So if I wave a sword at two chairs, they'll start having sex and produce a tiny chair for me to sit on? If the chairs (being constructs that have no genitals) refuse to breed (They can't talk or understand commands anyway) we'll hurl explosives at them?
After reading all of your suggestions, I have no choice but to realize that you're either trolling, or you're an 8 year old. I try not to insult, but...this is ludicrous beyond all compare.
So what you're saying is that you have no idea how this makes sense, so you're just going to avoid the question. I see what you did there.
In reply to this though...a game can only hide behind that so far. There's a reason sand falls in minecraft, it would be too ridiculous if it floated. Breeding infinite animals is ridiculous, as is getting them funky via wheat, but at least animals do breed IRL and they do like wheat. The snow-man in my backyard does not breed.
Let me ask you this...do you support Iron Golems breeding? It's the same thing, there's no difference between snow golems and iron golems in terms of genitals. Because neither of them have it. Let's take this a step further...do you support furnaces breeding? Chests? Maybe crafting tables reproducing?
All that furniture, iron golems and snow golems all have one thing in common. No genitals. No capability to reproduce. Even games have to make a little bit of sense, and your idea is as bizarre as they get.
Well, for one, I already hate this thread because you can't even properly defend yourself; your only counter-argument seems to be "it's a game it doesn't have to make sense." Well, it does have to make sense within the logic of the game itself, so HAH!
On a more mature note, the fact is that it wouldn't make sense for there to be baby snow golems - you can already construct an infinite amount of snow golems using snow and pumpkins (both of which are infinite materials, using pumpkin farming and weather). The only reason there would be a need for breeding snow golems would be if you could not already have an infinite amount.
For example, the reason villagers can breed is because zombies can kill them off; they need to breed so that their numbers remain high and the player has something to trade with. Iron golems, however, cannot breed because the player can construct them, plus within the game they are a mechanical construct. Snow golems, likewise, are a mechanical construct through magic, and therefore have no reason to breed.
BAM! You've just been out-logic'd.

Seeing how a large amount of people disliked the idea of Snow Golems in the first place, why the hell do we need a baby Snow Golem, it doesn't even make any biological sense. You don't even explain the breeding process, what item do use to engage a couple into mating?
It's the little things eh? Yes they make a big difference, like "A little black spot on the sun today."- Sting
P.S.- Your signature makes me sick.
It doesn't make sense? Neither does it make sense to be able to cary gold blocks that way millions of pounds, but you can do that...
Plus, it's sorta cute...

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

And dirt floats and you can make golems out of pumpkins and you can punch through stone with your bare fists, etc.
The point is that they have no genitals so they can't breed. Saying a snow golem can breed is like saying a furnace can breed. They'res no difference between the two.
TNT, firespread, PVP, mobs in general are all griefing tools. That shouldnt be considered when implementing new mobs and based on creepers and endermeanies i dont think Mojang cares it all about griefing.
The difference is that those all make sense. TNT is a necessary resource for miners. Fire spread is just realistic, and is punishment for being stupid. PVP is a gamemode designed for griefing, using that as an argument just proves you're out of legitimate arguments (though the whole thread just screams that). All the other mobs actually have a use, and this doesn't. It's unnecessary and, as Delthyn proved, doesn't make sense.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...

False, if you had read the thread you would observe the fact that a snow golem upon death drops 10-20 snow blocks and a few pumpkins. They most certainlty do have a use. Your argument is invalid.

Snow Golems drop like less than 8 snowballs upon death and never drop pumpkins.
Now if you meant that's something you'd want to add, that's stupid. That's the very definition of the word unbalanced.
snow golem breeding was taken off cus in the coding, snowmens FOLLOW feature is also part of the ATTACK feature...
it follows creepers and attacks them, when you show mobs wheat, the follow you... as seeing as these two were mixed toguether, the golem would attack the player
i think its pretty stupid anyway, although i would die if i saw a baby iron golem!! <3

so you want an oppurtunity to breed trolls? Snow golems have absolutely no use in the overworld, except for harvesting snow... which already can be used to make more snow golems. Plus, pumpkins aren't that hard to obtain...

You want to be a dragon? Well, then you need to have wings, a passion to hoard, and have a deadly breath.
Oh, and did I forgot to tell you dragons are extremely territorial? ROAWR >:)

Yes, snow golems have a use, this method of breeding does not. That's what i said, nothing else.

Snow golems now have a proper use, this breeding method makes that new use easier to obtain.
What will you then? to your newly acquired snowball and pumpkin? from which you got by killing a robot that you forcefully breed (How can they breed anyway?).
WHAT?!
Danger zone.

How is it unbalanced? Snow is too hard to farm. this fixes it.
Snow is very very easy to farm, this makes it about as common as dirt.
That's your opinion, one.
And two, set up one trapped snow golem and hold left click on the snow under him, and you have infinite snow. Remind me how this qualifies as hard?
WHAT?!

Old snow farming- farm one snowball at a time
New- Farm 10-20 blocks per snow golem.
