During my time playing the game, I have found it is easy and very practical to make transport systems by boosting mine carts using a glitch. I think that this glitch should be left in the game. Also as an alternative its possible to build a mine craft booster. I do however find this impractical because such a thing would need to be powered.
I'd rather see non-bug options implemented. My favourite idea is to include a 'booster track' segment made with redstone, but I'd also go for having coal carts work better, especially if they could also be chained onto present carts.
Boosters look ridiculous, are a pain to build, and glitch. I'll stick with autocart until Notch programs his own solution.

I'm sue what he meant was a "booster track" that would give a boost strong enough to push carts up 2-3 hills regardless whether or not some one/thing is in the cart.
I would like a way to connect them to a coal cart, to make a train. But I also like the free feeling of a booster, I like the way they look and the thought that goes into setting up a booster, I really like this glitch in the booster system.
If I could make mods, I think you would have to be very good at programming, I would make a mod to restore boosters to the boost level they applied in previous versions. Maybe there is somewhere where i can suggest/request a boost mod as I would really like it in my game.
Your post is redundant in the first sentence,
The mine-cart booster glitch isn't practical, its easy yes, but again not practical, having to abuse a glitch just to make something work isn't what i call fun.
And it ends in ugly walls with carts behind it, unrealistic drops and rises in track elevation, and most of all stupid turns *because you need to orientate the booster glitch in 2 directions only*...
So again how is this current system better then a fully functioning system that works without having to watch 5 hours of youtube videos?
Again, the fact that you have to abuse a glitch just shows how broken it is.
I don't care when it gets done, im happy with the glitch mechanics at the moment, but i cannot wait for the day its properly implemented and i dont need to spend ages setting up glitch boosters from point A to point B.
Notch broke my perfect glitched mine cart system as of 1.6.x
It was such an effective mode of transport! All I had to do was lay down two carts on a 2x3 block closed loop of track and they would become entangled and begin running in a circle at max speed. Any cart on a track touching this loop of track would then be boosted to max speed for as long as you needed to travel - no deceleration from inertia!
I spent several months gathering iron ore to lay down those tracks. I spent more countless hours researching the forums/wikis/YouTube videos to find the most effective mode of transport in Minecraft. I was just about to post some YouTube tutorials of my own on how to do this so that all could share and rejoice in the glory of speedy mine cart travel.
My bases are spread very far apart because I like to explore over vast distances. By no longer having a means of traveling between them quickly I am crippled. It will now take me two days of travel by foot just to get from one tower to the next! It's either that or use powered mine carts which are slow and horrible and a waste of coal. I may as well walk it for ****'s sake.
So now it's ruined. The dream is dead. My time has been wasted. I have lost a lot of respect for this game. I no longer plan on completing the texture pack I was working on either. Notch, don't you realize that people have poured sweat and tears into coping with the ****ed up glitches you've left in the game, and even come to rely on them? Now you release an update that breaks everything and offer no alternative replacement. I am gravely disappointed. FYI I will be reverting to the previous version of Minecraft from my Time Machine backup and using a firewall (Little Snitch) to block Minecraft from doing future updates. That way I can live in the glorious past just a little bit longer before I finally resolve to abandon this stupid game once and for all.

This is what you get for exploiting a bug. Same thing people said about water elevators or ladders with gaps. When will you understand: bugs are going to be fixed. If you want to exploit bugs, don't update. If you want to update, don't exploit bugs.
I disagree. I'm pretty sure the 1,243 people who liked this video care:
Now go stab yourself in the eye.
That video was liked before the new tracks. Of course people would use the glitch boosters back then, I did too. But now with the new powered tracks I have no need for glitch boosters.
Yeah, I get your point - but here's where the problem lies:
The bug made the game work more efficiently than when the bug was "fixed". So now that the bug is "fixed" I have to waste hours of MY time walking from point A to point B manually when before the **** just worked effectively with ultra-speedy rail transport as a result of the bug.
So congratulations to Notch for making a game that has less bugs but works like **** and forces players to waste their time walking on foot for vast distances.
Dear Notch: I hope your car breaks down on your way home from work and you have to fuel it with coal that you dug from the earth with your bare hands. Furthermore, I hope that when you take it to a mechanic to get it checked out that they tell you that gasoline-powered engines are no longer available. Because that is analogous to the way you have ****ed us all with your recent update. :biggrin.gif:
I stand by my position:

I wager good cash he either (a) meant it sarcastically and/or (:cool.gif: meant that it was not an urgent matter.

That video was posted long before the glitch was removed and replaced. It is irrelevant in the current state of the game.
Also, note the "nobody" in "Nobody cares."
