Would it be possible to add compatibility with Underground Biomes Constructs method of having the textures of ore overlay on its custom varieties of stone? Here is a post from the author explaining how support can be added. I can only imagine how nice it would look underground with all these different varieties of ore Metallurgy adds embedded in UBC's many types of stones. I think the two would compliment each other quite well in making mining that much more interesting.
Silly question, but I've halted modding my server (by replacing CraftBukkit with MCPC+, now Cauldron, and adding in the appropriate mods) because this was one of my 'critical' mods, and I'm a bit iffy on whether to use Metallurgy 4 now (while it's in Beta) or keep waiting for a later, "official" release. Does anyone know if Metallurgy 4 would be stable enough for use on a server (or if it can be used on a server to begin with)? On an important side note, I only need Metallurgy 4 for the ingots, I don't need to utilise any sort of "machinery" or blocks yet.
Also, if you're going to decide on adding new ores - and I know this is your decision and not mine - make sure the new ores you add aren't too cliche, and aren't just there for "filler". I'm tired of mods that add tons of new items when they all serve for only one purpose: eye candy. I already enjoy the ores/metals that Metallurgy 3 has, but I'm just making this "suggestion" for future ores that you may consider adding. For instance, I don't think we need a "Titanium" metal, unless it fulfills some kind of role, theme/style, AND (not or) purpose unfulfilled by any other metal.
I actually didn't realise (this entire time, yes I'm a very ignorant person) that ShadowClaimer left the team - how unfortunate! I was also going to volunteer to help with textures, but it seems like you guys don't need help anyhow. I'll be sure to make my own texture pack for this mod's blocks/items, though. Thanks (to the whole team) for continuing this popular project!
Would it also be possible to add some sort of support for custom stone textures? I realise that it's asking a lot, and it'd probably be easier to edit all the ores onto the stone texture, but I figured I might as well try!
And just because this doesn't get said enough - great job so far, keep up the good work!
Awesome addition to the configs for adjusting hight and frequency of spawning! Thanks!!
Whats the odds on getting the same sort of deal back into the configs to adjust pick lvl(for the ore) durability, dmg, enchantabilty, pick lvl(of the toot) etc....?

I have been playing with metallurgy 4 for a while now and the only issue I have found with it is some of the ores break faster than they should if you are using a pick that is not good enough to mine it. I have only tested two of the three machines but they work without issue, though shift clicking into them can be a bit weird.

This is an actual issue? I thought I was just unlucky. I still run into this all the time and I hate it. Since there is no real documentation, Im unsure what ores can mine what ores. So Ill hit an advanced ore block and it breaks fast, like youd expect a block to break. But then Ill have broken it and get nothing and its like, arrrrrgh!!!

- Running on Servers: So far I know 2 servers running Metallurgy 4 without issues.
- New ores: I will consider usability before adding something new

I cant give specific ores. But I notice it happens when you use an iron pickaxe. You can hit some ores that you shouldnt be able to mine with an iron pick but they will break at the same speed as if you were supposed to be able to mine those ores. Its cost me a few ores. =(
oh yeah! metallurgy for 1.7x!
Hi metallurgy team, i have a question...
I follow and use the metallurgy since its appear and i love this mod
but one thing that has always bothered me with mod... the textures
not the design itself I really like the designs but they are not "compatible" with 16x (16x is small in all) and I was wondering have textures 32x32 the forum?
I search for years faithful textures to metallurgy but the only thing I found was an unfinished project (project 10% done)
So I ask if anyone knows or is working with textures faithful 32x for metallurgy will be grateful...

Some notes/differences on "The Grand Minability Chart" from Metallurgy 2/3 as it appears in testing Metallurgy 4.
(Metallurgy 4 has not changed any of these. This is just the differences from final release of M3 and the documents.)
Silver mined by level 2+ / is a level 2 pickaxe
Astral silver is a level 4 pickaxe
Lapis Lazuli mined by level 2+ ( instead of level 3+ )
End ores mined by level 4+
Eximite is a level 4 pickaxe
Desich. is a level 5 pickaxe
Some of these differences may or may not be reflected in the google docs.
Upgraded furnace no longer exist, so if you want a copper furnace use More Furnaces mod.
Recipe for the crusher is...
i-iron ingot c=copper ingot m=machine core f=stone furnace
[ c ] [ c ] [ c ]
[ i ] [ m ] [ i ]
[ i ] [ f ] [ i ]
For the machine core...
[ i ] [ c ] [ i ]
[ c ] [ i ] [ c ]

I don't think the recipes for the utility ores have been added yet.
Ahh, OK thank you! This is not written down anywhere yet is it? I know you are not releasing a Wiki yet... If the new recipes (only) are somewhere else, I would like to get a link please this way I don't bug you guys

I don't know if the up to date recipes are anywhere but I use NEI or craftGuide for the recipes. NEI is good because it includes support for Metallurgy machines.
I will look into it

Great! Problem is I am about to start a new world and server so if it's not soon, it won't help me so much.

About to launch my server, is there anyway to do this without the feature being put into Metallurgy? Maybe a config thing?

Yeah, I miss talking to him, he is awesome guy
I will see if that is possible, and thanks
It's on the plan to be re-added
Not sure if there is a mod out there have control on vanilla ore spawns, so I have no idea.
I will check the ores for the issue.

thx metallurgy team!
Here is some documentation.

I've had it happen with metallurgy picks as well.
Seems accurate so far.

Mem
Stone Crusher = 4x Stone (Corners) + 4x Sticks (Straights) + Stone Furnace
Tried with stone, cobblestone, wood etc nothing.
Is there a new recipe?
Also can’t make a copper furnace
Copper Furnace = 8x Copper Bars + Stone Furnace
or Stick + Phosphorus (above) = 4x Matches
Do any of the recipes work or are they all different?
Recipe for the crusher is...
i-iron ingot c=copper ingot m=machine core f=stone furnace
[ c ] [ c ] [ c ]
