You're right. It does store 100 vis of each type. I guess when I found a Vis stone and noticed that it was holding a total of 10 Vis across all of its aspects, I assumed it had a capacity of 10 total, and not 10 per aspect.
That makes it better, but the fact that you can't recharge it with nodes in the field, or with aspect orbs makes it impractical to use.
The Vis Stone is a completely different item (that looks way better, in my opinion) from the Amulet of Vis Storage, which is unlocked via research, whilst the Vis Stone is apparently unobtainable in survival. The Vis Stone holds ten Vis of each type (60 Vis) and the Amulet of Vis Storage holds 100 Vis of each type. (600 Vis) I do think it would be cool if you could charge the amulets out in the field, but it would be a little OP.

You get the Vis stone from dungeon loot or trading with Thaumcraft villagers. I've got three of them.
Why would charging the amulet in the field be OP? Then it might actually have a use. Right now it's just a silverwood wand that's worse in every way except that it fits in your baubles necklace slot, and also far more expensive.
Snowy biomes, I believe, are what you should be looking for in order to find ordo. Taiga and so on.
Actually, if shard/node availability was updated along with the aspect revamp, icy biomes no longer have ordo because Gelum is made with ignis + perditio now. Not sure where ordo would be.

The fact that it fits in the necklace slot (therefore not in any vanilla slot) is the point. It's designed to fuel Repairing gear without draining your wands or using hotbar space.

Really? I should try to find more dungeons. And yes, I agree with the 'worse' part.
It would be overpowered being able to charge the amulet on the field because assuming you actually find an area that isn't a barren wasteland devoid of vis, you could always charge your wand without needing a recharge pedestal. Then again, it could always be extremely slow, or make it turn 5 vis into 1 in the amulet.

Edit: Wait, checked with our network guru - that is the forge/bukkit merge. We aren't running it at all - 100% Forge. Also, none of our "Server only" mods were update; just the client/server mods...
Anyone have an idea with this? We even reverted back to 4.1.1.12 and it still doesn't work, even though it did when used that version earlier (we just updated the mods on our server a few days ago). We also tried by removing ALL the server only mods and tried again, and still it did not work. None of the other mods we updated should have affected it as none of them included Tinker' Construct or Natura, which are the two mods that added in the bushes and berries... help? Please? We're working on huge railcraft project and would benefit greatly from the extra ores coming in as automated as possible!

Gelum is Ignis + Perdito, but Ice is Snow + Ordo.

You don't need your wand in your hotbar for it to fuel repair enchantments anyway. It can be anywhere in your inventory. If all of these sacrifices are solely to save a single inventory slot, I'm quite astounded that Azanor would add such an extremely niche item.

I'm suggesting that the vis storage amulet have access to the same methods of vis recovery that ordinary wands do. I don't see how that could possibly be overpowered, or how that would allow you to "always" recharge your wand.
It's late, I'm tired, so I didn't scan very deep into the forum to see if anyone else posted this, but I am having issues with the golems. When we were using 4.1.1.12 on our server, the golems recognized and picked berry bushes from Natura and Tinker's Construct without an issue. Now, after upgrading to 4.1.1.14, they don't "see" them anymore, so they will not pick them. What's extra weird is that a local/solo game does allow the golems to "see" the berries; just not on our server.
Is there some kind of weird setting we may have have on our server that may prevent this? Any help would be appreciated. I have reset them with a bell, removed and re-placed them, changed the different options (water for more perception, order for replanting) and nothing seems to help. But, again, same mods as the server but a local/solo game it works just fine.
This is a bit of a bother as we are building a "Great Rail System" and need a lot of iron and having the berries automated was very helpful. Of course, I am posting to other site with this but I wanted to run it by folks here as well, especially since the other two mods we have not updated and this one was one of our updates!

It would allow you, to, say, if you were travelling large distances with the amulet, to automatically charge your amulet (and therefore wand) if you ever passed by a node. (There is usually at least one node per chunk) I only said slightly OP in the first place. I do admit, that is a great idea.

Any decent thaumaturge is going to carry around a wand or staff that repair tools/runic shields can draw from. A simple gold capped greatwood staff holds more vis then the amulet. Again, the only use for the amulet I see is if someone not familiar with thaumaturgy could use repair tools/runic shielding. And they have a good friend who doesn't mind sharing their node chamber.
Now if the amulet could slowly make vis in a similar way that a primal charm dose then perhaps it would be useful. I would certainly use it then as I always carry around a primal charm.

My exact conclusion. A very specific and unlikely situation.

Primal charms generate aspect orbs. You would still need a wand to collect them.

I was just saying the vis storage amulet should regenerate vis at a similar rate that the primal charm drops aspect orbs. Or perhaps this could be an upgrade to the vis storage amulet.
Honestly, I'd be quite happy if I could combine my charm with a mundane amulet to make a wearable version with the same effect.

Exactly. At the current moment, they are completely useless. Even mediocre Thaumaturges will have staves. And I would never share my node chamber. You know how much grief those Advanced Node Stabilizers gave me, even with one and a half stacks of candles and three stacks of mixed crystal clusters?

The best use I've found for the Vis Stone (the uncraftable amulet) was when I found one in a dungeon on the second or third day, along with a pair of the +1 Runic Shielding Rings (also uncraftable). Meant I was able to have two points of shielding for a brief period, before I had even thought about getting started with Thaumcraft

What are crystals and candles supposed to do for the node stabilizers?

The +1 runic shielding rings are actually halfway decent because even if you don't have much of a shield, the shield still has a pretty good regeneration rate, so it can protect you from fire and poison fairly well.
You requested to repost this: (https://github.com/Azanor/thaumcraft/issues/811) Currently, both thaumostatic harness and focus change are set on a single key, impossibiliting the toggle of thaumostatic harness while holding a wand/staff (while attacking with a foci or whatever). Thus i'd like if a second key were added to toggle thaumostatic harness separately from the wand foci.
Not sure if Azinor still reads this thread, but if not I hope it will be passed on to him We have a furnace to get the Essentia out of items, and we have a Centrifuge to break apart Essentia into one of the two components it is made from. Now we need a Fuser that when you give it two essential it spits out two of the one they combine into. So if you give it an Aer and an Ordo it produces two Motus. This a a vital alchemical process that is missing in TC4 at the moment and I see no reason why it shouldn't be added.

If you can, roll back your Forge to 1092 or 1091 if your server uses MCPC+ (yes I am aware of a name change).
I do not MCPC+ use, and I release Forge 1065. More specifically, the 10.12.1.1065
