I usually assume people are using a ore processing mod of some kinda that can easily replace the grind stone, its not intended as a final solution. also see http://ae2.ae-mod.info/Features/0230/
I realize that AE's purpose is largley to supplement other mods, of the kind that usually come with pulverizers, SAG Mills, macerators etc. I do however think that for any mod to feel "complete" it should be playable with Vanilla MC.
I also prefer, when possible, to stick to one technology at a time when building my workshop: so, with regards to my pipeline for auto crafting things for AE, id prefer to use AE machines where possible. Even with *just* EnderIO as the other tech mod in a pack, using a SAG Mill already means ive doubled up on the number of outputs I need to deal with as it adds powdered forms of almost everything AE adds a dust for.
While the forge dictionary (mostly) ensures interoperability, it really annoys me at a fundamental level that the output from machines while named differently, all mechanically reduce a material to a fine grind, should name their outputs differently.
On another subject, this crystal duplication through purification approach makes me nervious. I keep on expecting to run past my crystal pools and see that everything has despawned.

They shouldn't I have overridden MC's item removal process to keep them in the world, if it really makes you nervous I suggest automating it with more accelerators or something however.
Question. How rare is charged quartz supposed to be? In my world Im chugging on diamonds and Im sitting on about 50 quartz from the overworld but Ive yet to find a charged quartz which apparently is needed to start everything? Or atleast to make a meteor detector cause I like skyblock and I wanna build my nether base out of it.
Do I need to find tons of charged quartz or can I use one found to charge the rest? Man! AE2 is something else now.

its reasonably rare, 7% of spawned quartz is charged, you only need to find 1, then you can build a charger, and manufacture it.

Oh. I just need 1? Phew. Ok. Time to keep mining. I have no idea sweet points for finding crystals but I want more skyblock! The nether is mean. But Im dedicated to a nether base. Must make it skyblocked though!Jesus is skyblock tough though. I like it.
i have an idea a thing called the dimensional transceiver used to expand the wireless terminal infinitly you will always have a signal takes lots of redstone ender pearls and about 3 diamonds its part of the me network

Sorry but 0.5 km is about my limit on wireless range for the mod, and even that uses a ton of power, I have no intention of making this unlimited. if you really want this you can tweak your configs.

i like the idea of using the skyblock as a building block for a nether base looks cool!
I do love a good, dark stone. Its why, whenever I play with Railcraft in the pack, I always go looking for abyssal stone geodes.
That said, this worldgen is getting quite epic. And there is a solid argument to be made that AlgorithmX should consider splitting the mod into two: A worldgen mod, with decorative Skyblocks and epic craters and certus quartz with basic tools. That could be excusably pulled into any modpack tech or not. And the AE Tech mod, that requires the worldgen part. Which adds the late game ME tech stuff.
Im not sure if your taking suggestions but I thought this is a really good idea for a mod such as this! We can already digitize mobs/players and store them in a storage cell but what if there was a sort of dimension that generates features and additions depending on what is hooked to the ME network you enter it through... like a virtual reality world you can access a vast amount of space or just have your mob farm/storage. The premise is you can access the things on your network from INSIDE the network (inception!) plus get the ability to have a pseudo dimensional door world you can customize to your wills content such as make it bigger or smaller and to acheive this you need to upload yourself useing spatial pylons how ever the modder wishes(completely up to them). This will give a bit more diversity to the spatial pylons and be a pretty cool end game feature to play with, imagine having computer craft support for certain things you do in that virtual world. I have no clue if this is a good idea to others but I really think it is and fits the general theme of this mod! It will also hae the ability to upgrade the virtual world the more advance you ME network gets such as the ability to simulate mob battles or literally travel from inside one machine on the network to another and use their features in each specific one would be pretty cool, and you could partition storage drives to use a special format to use for extra space in this world like the more space partitioned the more you can use while uploaded into the network!

Splitting the mod just means extra overhead for me during development, and most of the features can already be disabled via the config if you just want the world gen, and not the tech portion.
it also means that you would have to keep two mods updated instead of 1, doesn't really seem like much of a plus.

I've actually had this type of thing suggested a few times, and while it sounds fun and neat, trying to create a dimension based on a ME network and keep them in sync is so complicated / expensive to attempt.
i dont know if its a bug with ae2 or extrautilities, but whenever i connect an energy transfer node, or energy pipe to the energy acceptor, it always crash my game, can you help me?

Have you considered any additional recipes to use singularities - something akin to a portalgun, or a very high yield explosive.
Singularities are actually very easy to make as is, if I gave them a real practical purpose like this it would mean needing to make them more difficult ( aka banning things like snowballs, slabs, sticks - ect ) and that gets pretty silly after a little bit.

I would hope that things such as octupple compressed cobble stone would be counted as more than 1 energy unit.
One of the things that suprised me when I first "met" AE was, on the one hand, how cheap it was to instantiate "matter" from storage, and, conversely, how easy it was to convert matter into bits.
E=mc² surely applies? Do the "bits" on a disk represent the actual energy? or are they just a pattern, that needs to be reconstituted with energy, to become matter again?
Which is to say, I was kind of expecting a giant energy storage multiblock. When matter is digitized, a pattern gets sent to disk storage, and raw energy gets sent to ... giant capacitors. When matter is manifested, the pattern is read, and energy is extracted from the capacitors.
Two questions regarding Spatial Storage - I have never used it:
1. There is some indication that it can be used to transport players? Are there any good tutorials on setting up spatial storage for that purpose?
2. As a feature request because I belive this doesn't work: Can Spatial Storage be setup to copy rather than cut? i.e. I'd like to mark an area with a building i'd like to duplicate, a destination area, and then it will copy the structure, using blocks present in storage.
I would hope that things such as octupple compressed cobble stone would be counted as more than 1 energy unit.
Trying to determine how much each item is wroth is a lost cause it would varry fore very item in the game, and that wouldn't be fun for me, or for players.

As far as AE's "lore" goes the bits/bytes are actual energy stored in the crystals on the crystals - fluix is more or less a material the facilities the conversion of energy between states in all forms ( including matter ), its pretty much the foundation of the power system aspects as well as the storage aspects.
Beyond that however, I'm not really interested in realism I don't think trying to forcing our worlds rules on a world where cobble appears out of thin air when you build a device or where dirt floats is really meaningful.

It can be used to move anything, blocks, mobs, animals, players.
it cannot copy, if you want to copy something I suggest looking into the buildcraft builder.

The ore generates above diamonds below sealevel, 30-40 is usually a good spot to look if you being specific.
