unfortunately I cant run optifine. it breaks the Iron Foundry which we have on our server. infinite iron>optifine
+ I have a fairly beastly machine so I have no issues with lack of power.
I researched this a little bit, very strange. It appears the way that Optifine affects ticks & chunk loading causes issues with the spawning and continuous movement (even if you aren't there)...
Most people report that building their Iron Foundary when Optifine was already installed, it works fine. If you had it running, and then installed OF, it breaks it.
Now, OF is a client-side mod, so the server should handle all of the ticks and keep running regardless of where the users are located, plus the server will be generating most of the chunks (you just have to render them) -- and the server can't run OF. You should be able to use it if you wanted to.. Just saying ;).
So, that makes your issue a bit more tricky......
Does your issue still happen with other shaderpacks? Try Sildur's Vibrant or Chocapic's..
so if you have GLSL installed as I have [no forge/optifine], can I just use any shader regardless of their installation instructions? I just place whatever shader in my shader folder?

Yup, just drop any shaderpack into the shaderpacks folder and select it from the list.
As long as the shaderpack follows the naming convention..
nevermind, they do in fact work like that. WOW! It seems to be an issue with SEUS shaders. both Slidurs Vibrant and Chocapics work perfectly. I thought sliders was pretty good, but chocapics is amazing! if I could only get connected textures mod on the 1.7.5 install now to use my Misa Pack. default textures are a bit off on mobs with any of the shaders.
I do notice in the End, there is a light source that cant be seen to the SW but it casts light from that direction. this is probably the issue with the SUES shader.

You might try Chocapic's BETA shaders, they show POM support (which may integrate CTM as well)..

I have seen some people online saying they installed the shader mod into 1.7.9 jars but no mention on HOW they did that. Are they talking nonsense or is it really possible?
I have seen some people online saying they installed the shader mod into 1.7.9 jars but no mention on HOW they did that. Are they talking nonsense or is it really possible?
It is not possible, it's all BS.
There is Optifine for 1.7.9 but no GLSL Shaders for 1.7.9.
Anyone who says that they have it running is fake.
Anyone know if overclocking the CPU will have any affect on performance when running shaders... or is it only the GPU?
I don't have any experience in it myself, used to overclock before Core2 came out (AMD mostly)...
From experience, it might net you maybe 3-5 FPS gain. Where you would see significant improvement is in texture loading and chunk loading. As long as you have the HDD bandwidth and memory space/bandwidth to back it up.
Is it worth it, with adequate cooling --- maybe. Try I suppose..

Oh... I don't have an SSD, just a plain old 7200 rpm HDD. That's probably my bottleneck right now. I figured the GPU was doing all the texture loading and the server was handling the chunk loading
Maybe I'll get one of those PCI-e SSD's if they ever drop to a reasonable price.

please help this mod made the game so much fun.
I have to assume you mean Optifine 1.7.2 Ultra C2? You should go into the Ultra Previous Versions and get 1.7.2 Ultra D1.
Do you get an error in JAVA that tells you any DLLs that crashed?

Maybe I'll get one of those PCI-e SSD's if they ever drop to a reasonable price.
Hmm, if your mobo is capable of it, the new Intel mobos (Z68 / Z77 / Z87 and up) can use an SSD (relatively cheap now, the PCIe ones are REDICULOUS!!) as a cache for frequently accessed files on a spinning disk.
I've been trying to get it running, but I've got a 3TB RAID-10 at home, and it doesn't want to play nice.. I guess I'll be reinstalling the OS at some point (which is currently a bootable cut of the 3TB array). That's probably part of the problem :P.
I've heard good success of it running if you don't want to rebuild everything, reinstall windows, etc etc etc.
The CPU has to process the ZIP and pass all of the textures to the GPU to buffer them. If you are playing SP or MP worlds, you have to chunk load as well. A MP server holds the chunks, keeps them alive (even if you aren't signed on), etc but just passes them to the SP client to have them loaded.
Eh, I tried bypassing "boost mode" (3.9GHz) and locking it to 4.1... but it only made 1-2fps difference if that.
Anyways, thanks guys for answering!
Yeah, it was worth a shot, but the backbone of systems today are so fast (DDR3 memory, the pipeline between the CPU and NorthBridge/SouthBridge, USB3), overclocking the CPU only helps with specific tasks. It's crazy to think how fast the CPU can talk to the NorthBridge to get access to a USB3 Device, or the HDD, or the Video Card :P!

Might just need an update to your video driver...
Driver is up to date from yesterday.
No, all the error reports are linked above.
will try optifine ... D1
didn't work.
Is there anything on exit code -805306369?

I haven't tried any of the new AMD Drivers after 13.4 (13.11 BETA 9.5 was the best so far)..
Sorry to hear that OFUD1 didn't help any, I was hoping that would fix stuff. I'm not seeing any issues with glass blocks, with the exception of SEUS showing them semi-opaque instead of transparent.
I researched the error code, and it points to 2 things:
MC or GLSL running out of RAM
Video driver issues
What other mods are you running?
You can try updating your Forge to 1065, 1085, 1098, or 1112 (I just updated myself -- had to because of BiomesOPlenty). Fire up the launcher, click on your profile, click edit, and check the box beside JVM Arguments. It has -Xmx1G by default, change it to -Xms350m -Xmx2G (I hope you have at least 4GB of RAM if we are doing this). If you have Java 32-bit, you need to use this: -Xms350m -Xmx1536m.

also when i hit f3 it seems that not all memory is allocated and I am running default not traditional beauty.

Got a Z87-C (ASUS)... So I might revisit this idea after tax time!
Does everyone leave their res/texture packs zip'd? I usually unzip them and have them as folders with uncompressed files, in the hope that it makes even the slightest difference. No idea if it does, though... but it doesn't seem to make it any slower!

So, if you just drop a ZIP in the folder, double-click on it, make sure there is a shaders folder, and then the FSH & VSH files.

Else, a lot of the derivatives of Chocapic's shaders might interest you as well:

There's another guy in the forum here that is doing up a derivative of Chocapic's as well, he's posted in Chocapic's forum too.
Hopefully someone on the SEUS Forum or Facebook page can help you more with the issue.. I don't know when I'll have time to play around with it..

You want crazy shaders? Lets refract the world (Yes this is ingame)
Mine is overclocked to 3.2Ghz (from 2.8Ghz) didn't notice much different - about 5-8fps maybe. So I would say it's more GPU based.
