Hi I'm having the same issue trying to disable certain mods but I don't really understand this. How do I remove the spawnbiomelist ?? Is that a file? I can't find it in either config folder
only possible with CMS or another mob spawn control mod. for CMS its the entitybiomegroup.cfg file
Just remember to remove the list for the spesific mob, not the whole file :-P
Still having this problem, after running mo creatures theres a bunch of spawnrates and such that appear in MoCreatures (folder) then MoCreatures (Config) i turned some of the canspawns to false, and it hasn't done anything, i've tried creating a new world etc, nothing.

canspawn is useless. you have to edit the canspawn biomes.
Hey guys, so I think I'm doing something wrong here. I got mixed information that Mo'Creatures requires CMS, so I installed both on my server, but now my world is literally overrun with mobs. Hostile mobs, neutral mobs, it's seriously so overpopulated that walking outside at night isn't just hard, it's futile. I've also got Thaumcraft 4, have the Staff of the Primal, and a full set of Runic Shielding and I still nearly die every time, there's just too much going on. I've tried editting the various configs associated with MoCritters, but I'm still getting gratuitous werewolves, flamewraiths (who's idea were Flamewraiths? Seriously, arrest that guy.) and other obnoxious mobs.
I added this mod for variety; is there any way I can tone down the spawns to sane rates?

yeah, adjust the CMS settings, NOT MOC's
and CMS is not required for MC 1.6.4+
canspawn is useless. you have to edit the canspawn biomes.
biome modification is only possible if you have CMS installed, and if he has CMS installed modifying the MOC spawn settings will always do nothing.
setting the freq to 0 will do the same thing. though some have reported this doesn't work either sometimes so, adjusting the biome group list, or the spawn height requirements, may have to be done
I'm having trouble mounting a modpack for lan conect using CustomMobspawner, your settings do not introduce creatures Mod CandCraft in their size, tried to enter the name of each biome creature without success. I've searched for answers infinities and not meeting somewhere, somehow allowing mobs candy born in their own biome, and enjoy and other mods to spawn also find it difficult to release the creatures.
I thank you. (I'm sorry the bad english, because I'm using a translator :))
you talked about server stuff like you were setting up a server
if all you are doing is client side mods, its just use the forge installer, then drop everything else in the mods folder inside your .minecraft folder
heck...server is the same way, just on the server itself not your comp
That is exactly what I'm doing. I just put mods (ie Mo' Creatures) in the mods folder via Forge. But how do I stop what's causing conflicts?

that depends on the conflicts, if its ID conflicts, copy your client config files and put them on the server. If it some other issue you may have a client side only mod that shouldn't be on the server to start with. GUIAPI was one such mod. Optifine is another.
Man, I would think after all this time there would be a simple solution to the mob spawning controls with other mods. JAS was the only way I could find a solution, and it really was not "simple", but at least it worked. With JAS's creator retired, I don't see an other solution for future builds.
I'm in need of help one the server side of this mod. I have installed the server and everything but we have found out a bug that causes the server to crash after we spawn in a Big Golem. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you for your time.
I would like to know what exact files do i need to work with when I want to disable certain mods and what settings. I'm running 1.7.2 and have both CMS and MC and also it's clientside. I know it might have been said but it doesn't seem to have an exact answer and would like to know before i screw up my game

not enough information, need a crash log or an FML-server-0.log file with crash to help you out.

the CMS files for the dimension you want to change. you can't really screw it up as you can just delete the config files to make them regen if they get screwed up.
the spawn settings are in the creature folder and are separated by mod.

Thank you if you say yes!
Oh, and also, how do I disable ALL mobs from spawning? I only need the food.

because it added horses before MC did. In fact, Mojang worked with Dr. Z to add horses to MC. It also adds horses beyond what MC does.
All caps does not increase your odds of someone listening to you.

not likely caused by MOC, but CMS.
