Steelworks implemented in vanilla TiC maybe? And Toops becoming a part of Slime Knights?
If so, congrats
My apologies for the recent inactivity, I'll explain a bit at the bottom of this post. Until then, let's resurrect a Tinkers' Steelworks thread tradition. Yes, it's that time again. I hope you brought a Snickers.
New -High Oven's max temperature scales to its height.
Should prolly put this info into the spiffy little in game book. I got all derped in AS trying to figure out why my oven wouldn't go above 1000 degrees.
Yes, yes I should (and will) add that bit of info into the book. Fun fact: at a 3x3x3 structure, it's supposed to heat up to 3000, then add 500 per each additional layer. It works that way in the dev environment, but for some strange reason, not outside. Some investimagatin' is in order.
Got a chance to start a new world and try and, indeed, it doesn't crash. The old one just appears to be unrecoverable.
It's fine though. Don't stress it. Was just my test world for where I was doing the PureBDcraft textures
If it were a proper world I'd be backing up regularly.
Hope that fix worked for ya' Kane_Hart (answered via IRC)
Hmmm, well, my bad HanFox. I'm stumped on that one. Because of errors like these, I'm going to begin adding some more thorough exception handling in future releases (for those in the know, try-catch).
Also, I love your work, my good man. So pure, so BD, so craft, very delicious. I need to add that to the OP.
Why is the deep tank acting like void tank? My tank is full of lava, The lava is being made by ex nihilo then to fluid ducts to the tank. It says the tank is full but it keeps drawing more into it. No there is nothing using the lava I was just trying to fill it .
Ah yes, this is a known TConstruct issue as well, specifically Smeltery (and by extension High Oven) drains will continue to accept fluids even if their tanks have no room. This has been addressed and will be fixed for the next release.
Hi guys, I was bored today so I decided to retexture the Steel armour set sprites. It looks rather beastly, I'd say.
-snip-
It's a bit scaly-looking, based on medieval knight and Roman general armour. It turned out rather painterly and spiny.
Funded.
Love it. Originally I intended to stick to vanilla style for the steel armor, but lately I had been thinking of tweaking it a bit. That is, until you busted in all "Hey Toops, in yo FACE!" At which point my noggin was blown so hard I'm still trying to collect my thoughts, which reside behind me. Supply matching textures for armor-on-player and we have a deal! ...And if you don't supply them, then I'll have little more work cut out for me. >_>
Place it so that the head of the turbine (the part with the blades) are facing a deep tank drain. Then, supply it with steam either through piping, a bucket o' steam, or even faucets. Then, activate it with a redstone signal. Viola. Any alloys in the Deep Tank will be dealloyed,
The steam turbine itself isn't anywhere near finished or feature complete, therefore I haven't added any documentation to the book yet.
-snip-
Cement textures are harder than I thought. It needs to be rougher, I think, but without looking like a trypophobe's nightmare.
-snip-
Oh, so you did do it, you magnicificant *******! I like them both, but I'm learning toward the second a bit more as it's somewhat more subtle. So much better than my lolnoreallyitsnotjustgravel. If you're not *done* yet, keep me posted, otherwise, I'll get that thang you sent me. <3
I think I'll snoop around as see what I can do about texture variations (shouldn't be hard at all) my only concern is keeping a low overhead.
I think I know, but for unspoiling anything I'll put it in a spoiler, so people who don't want to be spoiled (IF I have it correct) shouldn't click the link

Please don't. I only have a precious few dirt blocks left. T^T

Alrighty. So I've been doing very little lately, especially in regards to posting here. The reason is life, as one might expect. Moving up on the job, which takes a physical toll that causes the brainmeats to become fliccid once I'm home. In unrelated areas, I've also been handed some potentially bad news which may not turn out to be anything, but I don't know how long the wait-and-see stipulation is going to take - so that's got me a bit bummed.
With all that said, the next update to Steelworks is taking a little while longer than usual as certain inner-workings are being rennovated, error handling implemented, and several new features being worked on. A fine french fellow by the name of wisthy is also helping development along and professionalizing my unprofessionalism, and I'm learning a lot.
New features? Decided to make the Steel Golem a little more than a simple reskin. Here's an embarassingly early preview, and it will absolutely not in any way reflect the final product...

This just in! The Board of Memes has decided my recent posts have not reached their meme quota. Therefore, I have an obligation to oblige.
In all seriousness, I really like the mod. You very clearly took some inspiration from railcraft, and honestly I didn't know it was a 3rd party addon until just recently. I thought it was another tinkers module, like mechworks. (that's a good thing.)

Ah, looks like they were trying to place a Scorched Duct in a Deep Tank (odd how people keep doing this...). This was fixed recently, the download is in the OP (not on CurseForge) - there's no version increment or note in the changelog since it was only a minor hotfix. Most have reported it recovered their world, but there was one person who wasn't as fortunate. Many apologies!
I'm playing Agrarian Skies, with the latest modpack update, which includes Tinker's Steelworks 0.0.4.2. My question is, how do you get the molten iron to turn into steel? The oven is at 3000 C, it has melted about 171 ingots worth of iron blocks, I have a stack of gunpowder, some redstone (I tried bonemeal, but when nothing happened I switched to redstone), and a stack of sand in the controller slots. It's busily burning my hard-to-get charcoal up and sitting there with molten iron. And sitting there. And sitting there.
Why won't it turn into steel? What am I doing wrong? I am not using the duct, just the controller, though I do have a duct installed (on the corner, if it makes a difference). I tried adding stuff to the duct, still nothing happens.
Never mind. I figured it out... the oxidizer, reducer & purifier are supposed to be in place BEFORE I melt the iron. My mistake was melting the iron first, then adding the reactants.
Yeah it has a redstone signal, and it has worked before.... (tryed to add some pictures of it, but doesn't seem to work)
just stopped working recently.. maybe with the last update of the modpack..
Try breaking and replacing the controller. There were a lot of little minor tweaks to the code with the new temperature scaling and such.

Also, early preview of Steel Golem in action. He's a bit OP at the moment, and I plan on making him quite a bit more unique from his iron counterpart, but here's what I've got as of the moment.

Very much awesome.
Will they spawn naturally (in the Nether)? o:
And uhm... Shouldn't something that's basically 5000 kg of steel, ardite and ham on legs be a wee bit slower? XD
What kind of drops will they give?
Can I fire them out of TNT cannons?

Nether spawning: yes. To top it off, they will be protective of pigmen if naturally nether spawned, but universally terrified of all spiders.
Slower: yes. The idea is that they will actually move about the same rate as iron golems (they would have be even slower if it was a biped) but when it comes time to get serious and throw some mobs around, they rush in like it's free tee-shirt day.
Drops: an undetermined random amount steel ingots and cooked porkchops, and always a solid block of ardite.
I don't suppose molten liquids from a tinker's construct smeltery are able to be stored in a deep tank, right? Because I just pumped all my molten liquid from a TC smeltery into a deep tank and it disappeared.

Thanks! The modelling and texture actually took longer than the code.
So, will pigmen be added to the nether? Nether Villages? Or will they be protective of the crazed rotten pigmen?
