Love the feedback, Glassmaker! Really appreciate having a voice for one of my favorite mods of all time. I'm assuming I can update my mod without losing my world?
Also, I'm not sure about the promethium. I may be referring to the other more advanced fantasy metal, which I might have mistaken for promethium. Regardless, I've been using a steel pick to mine them...
Also, what is going on with the textures of the machines? They are very vibrant and not pleasing to the eye if you ask me. I can't wait to see what will be in the next update, should be a good one!

If you are talking about updating your 1.6.4 world to 1.7.2, I don't think it would work as M4 isn't compatible with M3, because M4 is a complete rewrite with some major changes under the hood, if you are talking about M4 versions, sure there shouldn't be an issue between 4.0.1.52 and 4.0.2.4 as it's a bugfix release
I meant the latter. So I can just insert the 4.0.2.4 build and remove the 4.0.1.52 build directly from the mods folder? I'm still quite new at this.

New Metallurgy Reforged aka 4 is out? Gotta check that out! And after short while of having fun in world filed with ores just few notices. Some of people don't like new textures of machines. Honestly they look futuristic - shiny bright metals great for filling some factory or futuristic spaceship. Don't get me wrong they look really nice but they seem stand out of place in rustic, medieval-ish kind of workshops/houses of Minecrafters. I suggest adding some mean of changing it appearance like customization upgrade(?). So tiering tho crushers isn't longer a thing? Awww, I will miss early game, easy to make crusher but it ill be more balanced now i guess. And this fancy new GUI, with upgrade slots? Remind me of IC2, I am guessing two slots beneath fuel input are fuel related upgrades (more efficient, less consumable) and those on side for crushing process itself (faster, better, stronger) added in later release. Other machines will have upgrades slots too? I like idea of alloyer to make alloys, Will it work with ores and ingots too? Also I read you want to keep future development to be surprise but do you plan adding modern tier of materials like Lead or Titanium? Cannot wait for full release :3

THANK you for changing to the ore dict Now we just need to poke glassmaker to update extraTiC... Also, I've updated the textures to Sphax 128x for the 1.7.2 if anyone is interested... Just going to tweek the ones from the Tinkers construct to match. (for some reason they have bronze being more reddish than copper...) Btw, is it intentional that all your ores can be found from height 0-128, rather than spread them out in different ranges, or is that just for initial testing? The whole "everything is everywhere" seems kinda odd to me...

The 0-128 range is the same default from Metallurgy 3
and while I know that the 0-128 range is the same as metallurgy 3, by question still stands: is this intentional, or for testing purpose... Because if it's intentional I'll just redo the cfg for my own server, but it there's a actually future plan for where the various metals are meant to be found, I'll just hold off and wait.
It's intentional as far as I know. I remember Shadow said he didn't like the idea of people knowing exactly where to find each metal and dig down to a specific range and bam, you got the best thing. I believe he also said he wanted to encourage exploring by doing it this way and I wholeheartedly agree with that direction personally. I'm a big explorer so that's where I get most of my gameplay, by the time I get my first diamond all my friends probably have stacks of them because I progress so slow downward due to exploring caves and what not. With Metallurgy it's way more fun and way more rewarding too.
I need something called "KeithyUtils" to use Metallurgy 4. However, I don't see it anyway and a Google search led to a 1.6.2/4 version.

For Metallurgy 4 you require MetallurgyCore, for Metallurgy 3 you require KeithyUtils
As for the crash, looks like ExtraUtilities requires Bauble to work as it's trying to find the Bauble API, so kindly report that to RWTema
Well, that's really strange, I've even generated another world just to look for it, I was flying around in caverns and found nothing. Over all it seems like new ores are much less frequent compared to M3 and some (Manganese) doesn't spawn for me at all.
Umm... can you try running around in creative and check using the ore finder (found under MetallurgyCore tab)?
if you aren't able to find any can you provide your seed and forge build so we can verify too.

Could you explain why have you decided to remove tier system? I really liked it, it was something that engaged exploration and also rewarded me for getting those higher tiers by making machines more effective. It wasns't just cosmetic, it was meaningful.
I imagine this will also be revealed when you're ready
But I agree with Lefiath, I kind of miss the extremely speedy Steel Furnace/Crushers and the fact they consume much less fuel.
I wonder if this was changed to make Metallurgy more compatible with other energy mods where the fuel itself lasts longer?
(But then we still lose the speed bonuses...?)

This is by far my favorite mod. I'm soooooo happy to see this mod come back. Been playing Minecraft for years and this mod really hits all the special areas that I felt mining was lacking in vanilla.
One request I made long ago in your old thread was to make ore generation biome specific. If you could incorporate that into your mod that would change this game forever (for the better). I would also donate at that point to be honest.

Absolutely! I've tried it and it's like I've sayed - everything else appears except Manganese, which I didn't find in ten chunks that I've tested with ore finder (I hope I've used it correctly by just holding right button.) I'm using 10.12.1.1079 Forge and seed is -3189209232798077007 (Although I don't think it really makes any difference, because I've created three worlds since and all suffered same problem.)

The forge behaviour in the video looked odd, it should use the lava so much slower.:S
Make sure you have the latest, as in version 4.0.1.52 it wasn't working.

Will abstractors, expanded chest, mint, lanterns, taetarite enchanter, fertilizer, (Put your Metallurgy 3 feature here) will reappear? We have plans for everything that is in Metallurgy 3, you guys have to wait and see, everything will be revealed in time
What is alloyer for? I can mix dust like in Metallurgy 3...The alloyer yields more quantity and will eventually be required to combine higher metals together.

If you are talking about updating your 1.6.4 world to 1.7.2, I don't think it would work as M4 isn't compatible with M3, because M4 is a complete rewrite with some major changes under the hood, if you are talking about M4 versions, sure there shouldn't be an issue between 4.0.1.52 and 4.0.2.4 as it's a bugfix release

It's intentional as far as I know. I remember Shadow said he didn't like the idea of people knowing exactly where to find each metal and dig down to a specific range and bam, you got the best thing. I believe he also said he wanted to encourage exploring by doing it this way and I wholeheartedly agree with that direction personally. I'm a big explorer so that's where I get most of my gameplay, by the time I get my first diamond all my friends probably have stacks of them because I progress so slow downward due to exploring caves and what not. With Metallurgy it's way more fun and way more rewarding too.
I need something called "KeithyUtils" to use Metallurgy 4. However, I don't see it anyway and a Google search led to a 1.6.2/4 version.Nevermind, the link lead to a 1.6.4 version of MG. However, there is a conflict with Extra Utilities 1.7.2pr4.

As for the crash, looks like ExtraUtilities requires Bauble to work as it's trying to find the Bauble API, so kindly report that to RWTema
Umm... can you try running around in creative and check using the ore finder (found under MetallurgyCore tab)?
if you aren't able to find any can you provide your seed and forge build so we can verify too.

The forge from metallurgy that uses lava wasn't working for me at all when I used it, so it could be a bug or me being stupid...just a heads up!

But I agree with Lefiath, I kind of miss the extremely speedy Steel Furnace/Crushers and the fact they consume much less fuel.
I wonder if this was changed to make Metallurgy more compatible with other energy mods where the fuel itself lasts longer?
(But then we still lose the speed bonuses...?)

I'm glad I stopped by and read through this thread though. I'm excited to see what's coming!
One request I made long ago in your old thread was to make ore generation biome specific. If you could incorporate that into your mod that would change this game forever (for the better). I would also donate at that point to be honest.

Also just want to say after reading this thread, you are planning to keep the ability to customize ore generation and where/how is spawns right? That is one of the greatest things about this mod. I could suite it to my own taste

The forge behaviour in the video looked odd, it should use the lava so much slower.:S
Make sure you have the latest, as in version 4.0.1.52 it wasn't working.

Simply we took away the redundancy with the new machines, and we do have plans for them.
We understand you guys liked the old system, but it's time to change some stuff to have new things.
That is still in there, you can control the spawning of Metallurgy ores without issues.
Confirmed, made a fix, just making sure they are spawning fine before releasing it.
