really wish that i could play in this server but the lag is too bad for me =( i just died due to creeper when i didnt see him lol...
Good luck on the server and have fun people =D.
The server isn't lagging even slightly, however, I believe this world does take about twice as much to load as normal MC. If you're having problems, make sure you close out of everything else and then set your render on Minecraft to normal. That should help some.
This server is so much fun, made a team with my friends and have survived 3 weeks so far. Though had to see Snortellini die infront of my eyes by creeper explosion :sleep.gif: RiP snortellini.
because in a hardcore server like this you would need tons of food to get anything done. It would end up being more of a hassle than anything, especially since this far in, many people still dont have themselves setup good enough to survive for long. Starting out with a little bit of bread wouldn't help at all, hunger is just drained too fast.
The removal of hunger and ability for food to heal health direct is probably the one feature that I struggled with implementing the most. I do like Shadowscales suggestion of just having some starting food so that you do have a chance of surviving if hunger was turned back on. However, I think we will leave it as it is. I am working on a way to make food non-stackable. Whether or not this is necessary will be more clear once we see a few more epic battles to determine whether or not it will really improve pvp any.
This server is so much fun, yesterday manage to survive for 4 weeks in a row then learned that getting shot point blank
by a skele with explosive arrows seems to one shot you if your missing a heart or two. Well had gotten cocky after obliterating zombies and spiders so needed an ego check. The server is hard, but fair. 99% of the time you die it's your own fault and yes dieing sucks....a lot, but you learn something new that you won't forget. Thanks for the server Azmodan!
Thank you :sleep.gif:, learned another lesson. Protip: When you finally have reached the point of making a base and making a mine that reaches a lava area, don't be stingy with blocks. Use blocks that do not blow up as easily when shot by a skele. You may find false security when in fact the skele can blow a hole in the wall and precede to turn you into ash. See you guys in 12 hours!

Yeah. I decided to add this little warning to the main post:
WARNING:
If for some strange and bizarre reason you think the server isn't challenging enough, go into the deep caves. There are great resources in the caves, but beware of raging deep cave skeletons and mobs that are a bit more dangerous than their surface counterparts. If you wish to survive, a minimum of full iron armor is strongly recommended.
Pro-Tip: Never ever let yourself get a false sense of security on this server. Everyone dies...sooner or later, everyone dies.
I've never had lag due to the anti xray features. Like we've said before there is no lag on the server side. All lag is client side. This world demands more than a normal world due to the terain it uses, and how much more has to load. If you have any lag it's your side not the servers
Really fun, terribly difficult survival server! Come join it!
The lowdown
----------------
First thing, is this server has a 12 hour deathban. Makes it more exciting, and every night more difficult.
Next, you start out in a MASSIVE desert, it takes a long long journey to find other biomes, and they are few and far between.
Drop rates are VASTLY reduced. Punching through a whole tree MIGHT give you a stick or two, and a sapling. You get better drops from better tools. A stone axe will give you a fair number of saplings planks and sticks, and so on. The hard part is finding enough trees without dying the first few nights to get the needed 4 planks for a workbench, and 3 planks for a pick axe
TREES- ALWAYS break the leaves first, leaves drop sticks, saplings, and sometimes planks. Use stone tools when you can. and guard your saplings.
ZOMBIES- Zombies can REPLICATE. When there are storms, fighting a zombie causes them to occasionally replicate as they near death. Be prepared for it. Zombies drop leather, fish. wheat sometimes.
CREEPERS- Only happened once to me, but creepers can drop diamonds
HEALING-You heal by eating food, old school style.
HUNGER-Infinite hunger bar and infinie sprint
PROTIP 1- FIRST build a pick axe. Get some stone. MAKE A STONE AXE. Stone axe garuntees sustanable drops from trees
PROTIP 2-Joing someone, its much easier with allies. Not neccesary, but it makes life easier.
Generally people there are quite helpful, and with the 12 hour deathban, pvp is a very very rare thing. No one wants to risk dying, as death carries alot more weight.
Its a very difficult yet very fun server, addicting XD. Currently I am in a group with two other guys, and we have a pretty sweet base set up. Besides coal, which is tough to find, we are set up very well. just a guess, but I'm willing to bet we are the most established people on the server. We've been working our asses off since it came up.

Epic fun!
Lets not get too ahead of ourselves now lol. Our team has only experienced 2 deaths so far since the beginning and we've killed over a thousand mobs so far. Good luck however, I'm sure soon we'll see who is ahead lol. I look forward to seeing you online.

Very fun. Finally got a base going, may actually survive a while XD
Keep the feedback coming.

Just in case, I updated the Anti-Xray features so you should very few fake ores from this point on.
I appreciate the feedback in case there is something to look for server side, so let me know if you experience anything else unusual.
Glad you love the server too!
See you in game.
What's this city you speak of?
