You saying I lack human decency? Or am I misunderstanding?
Well I think they'll figure it out things they don't like on their own pretty good. If things require censorship.. then that's up to each person to have things be censored to younger people I think. It's not to say if I was a parent... I'd let my kids go rampantly wild and have no oversight.. I just think that if they choose to go into a place where there's an ability to be subjected to things they really won't like.. They'll learn pretty quick not to do it again.
I mean I did apologize but at the same time I had an "oh well" attitude because it.. kind of like you said it isn't my job to watch to make sure that people's younger siblings or children play a game that isn't made for that age group.
i was meaning more so how people complain about it. people complain about GTA, adult sites, or like you said you swearing at someone on L4D. they complain but it's not YOUR responsibility to censor things for THEIR kids. and then i threw in the argument that you could(out of blind respect for some reason) just not have those things on the chance that there is a kid around.
the latter is the company's standing on it. it's easier to avoid lawsuits from parent groups. not that it helps. ive seen plenty of videos where kids are swearing more in a 5 minute period than lil wayne. which is where my agreeing with you about why bother comes in.
solution:
Map Age Restrictions set by the map maker.
Map Audience Settings; public, private, friends, friends of friends, etc.
never had an online game with someone so not really sure if those exist but to some extent i'm sure they do. if they dont, make them. if they do, why bother censoring? it's just one of those unending arguments/debates

While it may not be your job... you are not the one that has to deal with the repercussions... MS, 4J, and Mojang is. And as long as they feel that it is more hassle than it is worth... they will continue to block the ability to perform certain things in Minecraft.
No I guess not.. But.. I suppose that's why they never rate online play? Because it's probably up to the individual to have a personal rating isn't it? I don't know how that stuff works entirely just a theory of mine.
We're definitely seguing away from the original topic here: The ability to make your own paintings to place on walls is significantly different from the original basic request to pick which painting you want to place that already exists in the game. Not only that, but it is a lot more complex to code for.

so menu for each painting in each pack you own with the exception of mashups. should the menu be sorted by size or by pack?
In my point of view I support. I would like to combine paintings from all texture packs in my survival and creative worlds. I hope this can become a reality :D!

Bedrock and Obsidian in the City Pack have some pretty gnarly looking ones.
Combining that aspect with like I said the Slender Painting from the Halloween Pack. That'd be epic lol
YES PLEASE!!! My wife likes to use paintings and it annoys the stuffing out of her that she sometimes has to try like 20 times before one works.. on top of which sometimes some of them won't pick up.

I know the feeling.
The reason I created this thread was because I was building something that required ALOT of paintings... and something that could've been a good 10 minutes.. ended up taking almost 40 minutes. So it was extremely frustrating.
What do achievements... and whoever you're talking about have anything to do with convenience?
Achievement Hunter is a Lets Play channel, possiblely the most known channel for the 360 version, and in one of their lets plays they had to use the factor of the randomizing paintings to complete a challenge.
Long story short, I Wasn't being serious, no need to defend your little suggestion. Selecting paintings is one of those things that should have already been in the game though, so I really don't care if they're implanted or not.

Valid? Lol how? Pretty hard to be surprised in the... probably 10 paintings there are after you've played this after a while. Least not for me, it just frustrating to me why I made this suggestion.
I'm not worried if you're serious or not though. I was just curious.

Okay thanks I just wanted to understand a bit.

Why except for mashups?
Maybe be able to toggle between both by size or by pack, and allow host privileges to determine which painting packs will be allowed.
Exception of mashup packs maybe because you don't own them? Maybe based on what you own?
That be cool.
I'd love some inter-mashup customization lol.
mass effect and skyrim to make the space core add-on
Some of the City Pack stuff, along with one of the paintings in the halloween pack (such as the Slenderman painting) would be epic together.
I love to draw

I like being surprised~

That seems like a pretty weak reason not to support something....
