Just to throw in my 2 cents... I support the individual player to be able to turn on/off whether or not armors are visible to them, as well as it being a host option as well as an override (to allow for certain types of games).
Well, like I said.. It'd be nice to have it invisible so we can see the skins we paid for. Kinda no point in having skins in my opinion if we can't see them from being covered in armour.

What if the Skins included a limited TP for Armor, so that while, yes, you did get the skin you wanted without armor on, you also get something that meshes with your skin as you wear it too, but can still let other players know that you are (at least) wearing armor. It would take a LOT more work to implement, but it would be kind of fun too.
i.e. You could have a Tony Stark skin, and as you put on armor pieces, your character starts to look more like Iron Man. Bruce Banner could slowly turn into the Hulk...Halo Armor would be obvious... but in some cases, maybe just a clothes change.

my dc mashup idea, the armor is a different superhero's outfit. it stands to reason that diamond is superman in my opinion.

That would only allow for 4 different DC heroes (5 if you include chain), and would look weird when someone piece-meals their armor (ie. Leather Boots, Steel Leggings, Diamond Chest Plate, Gold Helm)
